I would probably change it like this:
Both captain and lt are either 50 or 60 fuel. After you have unlocked either one, the other you did not unlock fuel cost will drop down to 10 or 20 fuel. This way you do not need to spend as much resources just to get certain unit like mg and delay major too much. Of course this would need adjusting. |
They are balanced, if you have problems with them, you probably need to play bit more against them and figure out how to counter them. |
Can we bring the topic back to the Jackson nerf please?
I was just about to say the same thing |
Clearly everything is op. |
Mortar pit is such a limiting units, i personally would like to see it changed like this (unlikely): Mortars of brits are like any other factions mortars, can be moved, bought from second hq building. Sappers are able to build empty mortar pit for 200 mp. So people have choice. They can use mortars like any other faction, but they can put them in mortar pit in case if they want sustained mortarfire on certain area. Brits would get better indirect fire option without being too same with other factions. |
I was planning on doing this in my mod however it would have been very time consuming for me because of how weapons can be given to entities or "infantry models" whatever you wanna call them in terms of modding.
So yes I fully support this change.
And I think that Paratroopers having a mix of M1 Carbines and M1 Garands and 3 upgrades to Thompsons, M1919A6s and bazookas is also a good decision and fits them historically.
The M1A1 Carbine to be exact was meant for Airborne because of the metal buttstock which would be pulled back to shorten the weapon when jumping and so forth.
While the Rangers used M1 Carbines again because of their smaller sizes compared to the M1 Garand, and believe me when you had an MG42 shooting in your general direction on those beaches you needed a shorter weapon which could still pack a punch and allow you to be effective at medium range rather than the M1 Garand which could prove as a liability.
Having the M1919A4 and M2 60mm mortar models be given animations wouldn't be bad either tho as well, you can even see the models in the world builder already and the M1919A4 could be seen in Artwork for CoH and in the AA trailer for CoH2 which was kinda ironic because like I said, it's model is in the game but there is no animation.
If you're going for historical accuracy switching the M2HB .50 cal for the M1919A4 .30 cal would make sense because only a body builder would be able to lump around the Ma Deuce like the guy in the game right now.
I always found it amusing that they carry 50 kilo/ 99 pound paper weight around. |
This dude above me with the sapper at infantry kinda has a good idea too. I was thinking that earlier as well would be interesting.
I said this in another discussion.
Why sapper flamer? Why not arty flares? Would provide intelligence before an attack? Or maybe a British for the mother land kind of ability? I can hear infantry sections screaming for the queen or for queen and country.
“Whistle blows, comeon lads over the top! Whistle blows, Charge for queen and country! Let’s push the hun back Like we did in Amiens! Remember the blitz!”
Men charge
“Yeah Jerry at’s for my Nan and er Ouse!”
..........................................................................................................................
Why not something more defensive? A mod I like to play gives the u.s. access to a m20 halftrack with a AoE repair ability. Would be interesting. I’m not complaining about the flamethrowers but I dunno so many other unique and interesting things can be done.
Flamer fits to the theme of commander, being focused on improving your vehicles and clearing out defensive positions. |
Well, it's better than Stand Fast, which was pretty useless after both it and emplacements were nerfed into more or less obscurity. I still think if you really want Flamers people are going to continue going for Mobile Assault so it's pretty much "whatever" (unless you feel like trolling with AVRE). I'd almost have preferred something that kept the defensive spirit of the doctrine like an emplacement upgrade that let you have garrison bonus without a squad inside or my idea during DBP was to have some kind of specialized Sapper or Heavy Sapper call-in.
I like idea of call in special engineer. Originally avre was meant to come with engineers that had gammon bombs and demo charges. I like to see that , thought probability is zero. |
turns it into stationary weapon team that is built on field by rear echelons |
So with the plans of spring balance patch, there was stand fast being replaced with flamethrower. I saw no-one saying anything about this, probably because 222 buff, jackson and soviet sniper nerf are taking all the attention.
I am intrested to know what people think about it, is it gonna make this commander more viable. I at least see myself using it lot ore with flamethrower |
