Pack howie and WASP want to have a conversation with you.
Pack howie, yes.
WASP literally gets 1 hit by double schrecks lol. |
Does the elephant work? Yes!
Is it doctrinal vs nondoctrinal? Also Yes!
Therefore IMO its a bad solution.
*USF and brits crying in the corner with their almost nonexistant nondoc garrison clearance*
I mean you could mix panthers/JP4s and AT guns (actually even JP4s by themselves do a great job of countering jacksons and are ok against churchills IIRC) but elefant pretty much hardcounters all allied armor and is really incredibly hard to kill with churchills and jacksons only so if that's the issue I don't know why you wouldn't build it.
Also OP, I don't think sweepers make any faction but OKW repair faster. Since no one else's engies are 300 mp. It's just the heavy engineer upgrade. |
There is resource inflation in team games. It doesn't have to do with the number of resource points. It has to do with the number of resource points that's being contested. In 1v1, about 75% of the map's points is (usually) constantly changing hands. Cut-offs are much more frequent. Ultimately sectors are neutral or cut off for a long time.
In team games however, usually 75% of resource sectors is never contested. Only frontline territories change hands. This means resource income is much more stable. This inflates the income and screws with timings, because costs and timings are mostly based on 1v1.
Not even mentioning how much easier it is in team games to put down a few early caches.

You don't really need to go all in to get tigers as your first tank in teamgames before 20 minutes anymore. You just play normally (albeit without tanks) and make maybe one or two fuel caches, all of which is totally doable, and you get a tiger by the time they have 1-2 tanks, and if those tanks aren't TDs, they're sunk. If they are TDs, you're still at a huge advantage because your fuel investment can kill infantry (and if it's tiger ace, suppress infantry too because balance lmao) and theirs can't at all. Even in 1v1s I find it doable sometimes to go straight for ace, since I'm confident I can handle one or two tank with a couple of paks. |
One versus one, yes.
But you can build a ton of these things really fast. You'll be swimming in map control, and you can overwhelm enemy squads with sheer numbers. Two RETs beat a Volksgrenadier squad, three beat a Sturmpioneer. You've got so many squads that flanking MGs is a piece of cake, and you'll get your officer in short order to do the damage heavy lifting.
If your opponent concentrates their forces, the RETs spread out and cap everything else.
Then you hit CP3 and they all get M1919s. The sheer power spike can push your opponent off the map.
Assgrens counter it hard, but against OKW RET spam can be really strong.
Yeah I thought the supposed problem was the grenades though?
Now you're just complaining about echelons. They're 50 mp less than volks to make and 40 less than grens, and USF starts with a little more manpower than both axis factions. You can't make that many that fast, not enough to have two for every volk and like 3 for every sturm. You also won't have any snares or engine damaging mines, and have spent all your muni on like 6 1919s anyway so you'll get raped by a luchs or flamer halftrack. Not a viable strategy. |
Problem lies in OKW, not in USF IMO. Because USF does very much alright against OST, but lacks the early power of volks + sturms.

Except the AAHT of lend lease.
Oh yeah fax. |
The Tiger Ace has nothing to do with this. I don't care about faction-to-faction balance here.
My concern is that T2's not worth it at the moment. Teching T2 and getting light vehicles should be stronger than building PGrens, but the resource cost of the T2 building is so high for what you get that it's just not worth it.
If the T2 skip is balanced, then buff T2. My argument is that now Panzershrecks don't need T2, building T2 does not provide a benefit proportional to its cost.
IDK not getting raped by t70 or quad .50 is a pretty good benefit for not skipping t2. I personally wouldn't do it against any faction but the brits since their light vehicles are all easily counterable with schrecks (all two of them lol). |

Seems like as Ethereal said, pfusies kind of struggle at first before they have g43s, but once they get them, they're definitely a lot stronger than volks. I guess you just have to play a bit more conservatively than usual if you're going to open with them, maybe just pick one side and stick to it to make sure you get some resources. Kubel might not be a bad idea to make up for some of that lost power too. |
But it is a question of balance. Internal balance.
It's the value of T2 vs the value of skipping it.
Formerly, that balance was way in favour of T2: skip T2 and you've got barely any AT.
But now you get decent AT anyway, is T2 worth 200 MP 20 FU now? If you're not building multiple T2 units, it's 400 MP 50 FU to get an LV out or 520 MP 20 FU for an AT gun.
Those just aren't good value compared to Panzergrenadiers.
I've got no problem with this new tech structure, but T2 should have a comparable cost to T1 in its current state, at least in manpower.

Although not having paks against a t70 or AAHT sucks. |
