G43 is better, they snipe low HP models all the time. Being stationary to apply damage is kind of a crux with all the grenades and indirect fire. It depends on the game mode mostly for me. In 3v3 / 4v4 it feels like a death sentence to sit there firing. But G43 mobility is superior. 1v1/2v2 entirely different as there isn't 5-6 mortars dropping on 1 squads head.
I don't think grenadier g43s work the same way as the JLI or pathfinder rifles in that they don't "crit shot" low health models. They're just a straight dps upgrade for grens IIRC. |

Not that I have a strong opinion on this or anything, but sometimes I wonder if removing the free units would actually be a bit of a ninja buff.
Sometimes I find that with the need to get 3~4 rifles in the early game, plus Rear Echelon, plus at least 2 "free squads", that buying elite inf (paras, rangers) becomes impossible. Assuming you didn't suicide your units, elite inf just adds unsustainable manpower bleed that's needed for buying other stuff - and since you're USF, your opponent has already gone an anti-infantry build anyway.
So, could be a L2P issue, but remove the free squads and it might actually give you the option to build the stuff that you actually want to.
That's how I feel as well. To counterbalance that, nades and/or weapon racks could be unlocked when you tech up to the first tier just like ostheer/okw. You have to pay 300 mp and 40 fuel just to get those 2 things, and another 250/10 for the ambulance. That way you wouldn't have to pay for so much neccessary stuff and get forced to have more free somewhat redundant infantry instead. I make team weapons and elite infantry a lot less with usf because I'm already forced by design to play with such an infantry heavy build that there's no room for them.
TL, DR my dream solution would be linear tech minus free officers and with free racks and nades instead. |
Double mortars/leigs should work if they go full sim city. All you have to do is make sure to queue up a move command after the barrage and he shouldn't be able to do that much against you. The mortar halftrack works even better as long as you keep it safe from at since mortars can't really effectively counterfire it and it has the incendiary round.
Or you can just force braces on his bofors and/or smoke the bejesus out of everything and then run in with your army and attack ground.
Also, I don't think the mortar nerfs really heavily affected their performance against garrisons, but I'm not 100% sure so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. |
Was talking about non Doctrinal abilities. If we count doctrinal abilities in then even Penals can sprint.
So Allies having a "out of jail card" is fine but Axis not ?
Ironic that you say that because only 2 units in all 3 allied factions have a panzer tactician type smoke (AEC and sort of the normal churchill). |
Personally I think USF is fine. They struggle for the first 5-7 minutes and then comeback with strong scaling infantry and more efficient units than the competition, i.e. HE Sherman and Pershing. No different than OKW was 2 years ago post June patch. USF would buy 4 mortars and laser blow OKW to shit while people were told to buy StGs and fight 2x BAR rifles. OKW was a “lategame faction” and USF more the early game faction at the time. Tables have swung full 180 now and suddenly USF is unplayable. Not attacking you or anything but the USF unplayable crap is really annoying currently. The faction has a tech issue and is weak to sniper play as always but that’s about it currently. Everything else is generally either mediocre like the mortar or over the top like the Pershing.
The problem isn’t USF is unplayable, the problem is why would you subject yourself to USFs weaknesses when soviets cover theirs so much better.
+1
I don't think emplacement would have been so bad if it wasn't for the implementation of brace. It could be used to save the unit and buy time for reinforcements with no real drawback. The enemy either killed the emplacement or they didn't, all or nothing bleeding on the way (unless you goofed/were outplayed)
A faction designed around super durable things that don't bleed is a faction designed to be broken as hell.
IMO if brace inflicted an MP deficit like Soviet auto repair did emplacement would have been much better balanced or if brace required garrisons so you couldn't have a Tommy blob running around putting up pressure while your emplacement hold the line. Even making emplacement cheaper on pop cap and even mp but tying a lot of their strength to being manned
The loss of the sniper snare was silly of course. I didn't see the problem with it countering lights since it was so squishy that fucking it up was a hard loss. Hell they could have just adjusted its effect against light if they needed to. Idk
The brit sniper stil snares LVs with the crit shot. I've done it like 12 times this month lol.
I do wish it wasn't locked behind vet1 since the thing takes forever to vet because he shoots so slow. |
It's a really good unit, better than the leig at almost everything by my observations, but is a bit awkward to use because, as you have noticed, it's weird to try to screen with riflemen and have them fighting at the same time, and you don't have access to machine guns with it. You just kind of have to get used to babysitting it a lot but if you do, it'll do its job really well. |
Even though you aren’t a big fan of it, screening with riflemen is definitely a solid and fairly reliable solution, and should happen naturally in the course of the game anyway. The only real problem with their snare is that the animation is fairly long, but that shouldn’t be a huge problem for defensive purposes.
Mines are also great, and really if you’re playing right your Jacksons should probably be bullying his tanks, not the other way around. |
Tell me, do you even using the Sprint ability for Riflemans? Of course not.
E8 is completely similar to 76(W) Sherman. Except E8 has a bit more front armor.
M1 Carbine is useless? Tell that to Paratrooper squad or Rangers, they will shred any Ostheer/ squad into pieces.
People using Rifleman company now for two purposes, spamming E8 and Phosphorus charges, other 3 abilities are'n using in 90% of the times.
I agree with what you’re saying except I’d like to point out that the M1 carbine upgrade would need to be able to have BARs stacked on it as well or else it would not be viable just because it would take the place of BARs. |
All paras with bazookas have:
Accuracy near 0.063
Accuracy mid 0.048
Accuracy far 0.034
Which is the same with any other squad. (they get better penetration)
On the other hand keep in mind that rear echelon get +20 accuracy at vet 1.
For comparison P.shr accuracy.
Accuracy near 0.069
Accuracy mid 0.052
Accuracy far 0.028
Must be because I'm comparing them to vetted rear echelons. I've noticed the panzerschreck misses a fair amount too. |
