But rifleman can easily clear garrisons.
RE comes up and fire a smoke grenade, rifles throw 2 nades. If you dont want to use RE, you can also use LT, Captain, Majors to do it.
T0 mortars, Pack Howitzers, mortar halftracks in a few doctrine... Come on, dont give me that "HERP DERP USF CANT CLEAR GARRISONS".
----------
*UKF is kinda sad tho.
Easily clear garrisons for 75 muni after a sidetech and using 3 squads? Aight. Compare that to just waltzing up to a mg firing from max range and flamenading it though, or at least being able to use flamethrowers on it in pretty much the same fashion
I guess you are right that USF as a faction has enough garrison clearing tools though. |
My guess is they realized how the messed up with the overlap of commanders for EFA and backpedaled to make each commander more unique for the newer armies.
I hope they backpedal even more for CoH3 and make the commanders even fewer but even more distinctly unique.
+1
A lot of the EFA commanders have like half of the same abilities as others and they just feel kinda thrown together. At least most of the DLC faction commanders have mostly unique abilities.
IMO CoH's commander system was far superior to Coh2's, with really unique but few commanders. More variety is always nice, but not at the expense of quality I guess. |
Then all faction need similar tools do deal with HMG and similar mainline infantry.
HMG42 is better than other HMG by design.
Maxim could use have the vet 1 ability move to vet 0 and make it improve with each vet level.
Yeah when riflemen and sections can actually clear garrisons we can buff axis mgs' suppression up to decent leve- oh wait... |
As if the normal Tommy Bren blobs aren't bad enough you want to give them commando Brens with no out-of-cover penalty? No thanks.
A Thompson armed assault squad with Volksgrenadier-like charactaristics seems good enough. No need to put all sorts of weird weapons on them, the weapon profile can simply fit whatever you want it to be. An assault squad with most of its DPS in the low to mid range.
You right.
Yeah I guess that would be a good solution too. |
2 Assault Section- an Infantry Section that doesn't have out-of-cover penalites. Equipped with a Tommy gun, Enfields with fewer movement penalties, and No. 77 WP Grenades for both smokescreen and anti-garrison use. Can fire Bren guns while moving. 320mp, 32 per man.
The Sherman IVB (British M4A3(105)) isn't quite indirect fire, but would be more historically accurate.
I like the assault section idea. IMO should either be armed with 4 tommies and an enfield (assuming 5 men) or just 1 thompson that doesn't take up a slot and can have double commando brens (the fire-on-the-move ones), and as you said the enfields with less movement penalties and maybe with a more midrange oriented dps curve. Maybe even give them a BAR upgrade instead of brens or something (the only top tier allied midrange weapon I could think of). |
I wish they'd remove some of the worse maps. Kinda tired of compromising over which maps to veto with myself because there's too many that aren't fun to play on. |
So I just thought this would be a good showcase of how stupid overwatch is right now. Sidenote: this was coincidentally a guy I'm actually friends with and we just found each other in automatch, so no hard feelings for the player, just the doctrine. I ended up winning but mostly because of grave mistakes on his part and a little bit of luck on my side at the right time.
Pop sector assault and he's literally stuck in his base because it takes up almost a third of a 1v1 map, and if he was better with his lefh he probably could have picked off all my squads in my base/back line hiding from the bomber that refused to get shot down by the flaktrack half the time and I wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. He ended up stealing my pack howie because there was no way in hell it was going to be able to escape the bomber even when I moved it pretty much immediately and the sector assault meant he could just waltz over and take it while I was stuck in my base. It also seems to cooldown pretty fast (way faster than p47s apparently) and he was able to spam it a lot somehow. His jaegers were doing work too, and if he had made a couple more he probably would have been able to just run me over.
TL; DR overwatch is a fucking slog to play against. If anyone has tips on how to better do so, please do share. |
That being said, you'll likely to have platoon command unlocked before even these 90 muni are accumulated, so keeping wasp behind that doesn't really make a lot of sense anyway, if you don't rush AEC and REs(for new AT nades), you're just asking to be stomped anyway, so no one would be sitting longer in T0 anyway if WASP was there.
Exactly. I don't even know why this is still a discussion.
Also I think it got brought down to 75 muni, but point still stands. |
The command bunker was actually considered to be buffed because few people use it.
Probably because halftrack exists for a comparable price. |
The only sensible way that WASPs get unlocked is lowering its HP so a single rakketen impact would kill it, but Psfausts dont.
Really? That's not balance at all; that's freaking easy mode. Can my at gun 2 hit okw panzer 4s? Because if not it's clearly not a real counter and therefore okw p4 is OP plz nerf.
And of all things to complain about, the WASP? |
