Not a big advantage since using of 222 (which is 400 mp loss in this case) can easily "outprice" it's own build while just saving 200 mp may cause a bigger loss if opponent played right, especially since even pioneers are 25mp to reinforce.
When penals just have received their PTRS upgrade axis, especially ostheer, started to suffer from new meta, and people forgot for a while that soviet t2 even exists.. But now, as far as I can see, literally every match soviet player soon or not backtechs to get atleast a ZIS-3, even maxims are represent.
It is very hard to win a game without ATG and ATG is always useful somehow, so don't really see a future for this "only pgren" build.

What are you talking about? Is this more satire? Can you stop making massive generalizations about the community? Read through this thread, most people have pushed back against big nerfs to the unit.
I minor cost increase is probably warranted, that often happens when a unit receives a decent amount of buffs
Why I am so angry? Because I know why people are so salty, their T70 now got a counter and Ostwind is able to make some damage now. Soviets still try to outplay Ost by old broken mechanics, after their OP tools got counters they now see how bad their micro and tactics is.
I lost many vehicles because of Bofors or Centaur when a plan went wrong. But I would never waist a P4 by drive into two Centaures AND then cry and say it is op. |
it was outperformed by P4 because P4 is one of the best AI mediums in the game. P4 with pintle is actually even better AI DPS than comet
It makes more DPS, but is easier to counter. Not all more expensive vehicles have more dps. Comet e.g. is difficult to finish, better surviveability than P4

Not much time have gone afterpatch, people adopt slooooowly.
There is no problem in pgrens with pshreks, problem is that people want a T70.
Before patch T70 was a great choice against ostheer, because ostheer needed to bring in field more manpower and munitions just to counter it, or suffer from bad map control while T70 is uncountered.
Things havent changed, there still be another option for soviets in case of pshreks on field: the quad.
It is cheap and you pay exactly the same price for quad upgrade than ostheer for pshreks. Quad definitely will stand against pshreks because of suppression, and force ostheer to get a pak for countering. T2 is not skipped, voila.
(btw quad and T70 is deadly combo)
People just are accustumed to build orders, and they need to change them after this patch.

Somebody loses his T34 because of stupidity. Now we are speak about nerfing an unit, which performs well. Some times ago there was also a thread about nerfing 222, because an idiot lost his T34.
Sherman shreds infantry, nobody cares. 105mm Sherman is better than Brummbär, nobody cares. Scott oneshots PaK-crews sometimes... -> nobody cares.

Combined arms is not the issue and any attempt to make that argument is simplistic. The issue is that the ostwind and pgrenz were overbuffed and when used together are cheesy and braindead stupid. Numerous arguments have been made opposing unit power creep and the balance team dismiss those arguments on the basis they know better. Nothing is more frustrating than increased probability of squad wipesand that is exactly what this patch has done.
You know what? PnzGr. only need to drop 2 men to lose any AI ability (beside the Geballte-Ladung), the Ostwind is the only unit to prevent Ostheer to get pushed now into their base by any kind of infantry.

The counter barrage is a very good ability for 105mm and Panzerwerfer. But Mortar doesn't really need it, because it doesn't works in its range niveau.
You can remove it, nobody will care. Or, change it with something usefull, e.g. a cool-down ability for quick-reload etc. (increase reload speed ~10% for some sec.) |
I would like a count-down, e.g. 20 minutes fixed cool-down from start of game.
Or, a 5 minutes fixed cool-down after T4 was build. (so, Tiger needs 5 mins longer than current). That would be my favorite.
Edit: beside, please remove the CP of StuG E. Move it into T2 instead, with T3 tech requirement. |
