I don´t understand why u want force people to go for T-1. They can build T-1 strategies arround commanders. There are plenty of early AT options for soviets. PTRS for penals it´s just not a good idea in my opinion. Penals should be strong and only AI squad and I´m sure that people will still build T-1. I´m not sure if PTRS penals will help to change boring stategies.
I'm not saying people should be forced to go t1, just making the point that players will have more options and t1 would be more attractive if ptrs penals or m42 was added. I agree that penals should get an AI upgrade of some sort if a player would prefer to have them in a solely AI role since svts alone don't really cut it. Maybe a 4x ppsh upgrade or 1 dp28 at a certain level of verterancy. |
PTRS Penals were a shit idea to begin with. There's no need to sub in an equally shitty idea in its place. They just need to know when an idea was bad and just remove it and move on.
You don't need a light vehicle hard counter in every single tier, come on people...
The problem is that no one will want to go T1 now that penals are much weaker. Combine that with the lack of AT in the tier then whats the point? Most people will prefer cons with maxims + guards since it is much safer, can do the anti inf role just fine and and gives you a counter to light vehicles and even mediums with the zis in tier 2.
However going T1+T2 is rarely ever viable since spending 320 manpower will set you back a long way especially since going T1 in the first place already forces you to sacrifice some map control and time.
The reason why soviet T1 has been the meta for the last 6 months is because penals were OP and they complemented well with guards that could solve your lack of AT problems and still dominate axis infantry. But if ptrs penals are added or even the m42 AT gun then players are no longer shoehorned into the same boring strategy. The last thing you want is T1 becoming the old cheese tier that people rarely ever used, consistency and more viable strategies is whats needed. |
This isn't a good idea.
-Sturmpios repair extremely fast already so they don't need it, plus okw has mech truck repairs too.
-USF have crew repairs which allow them to repair fast already. Also rear echelon perform well in combat with upgrades so they vet up fast too for the repair bonus.
-Brit engineers also perform well in combat which allows them to gain their repair bonuses faster. I believe their repair bonuses are also quite good in comparison to soviet engis and Ostheer pioneers. Brits also have anvil upgrade to allow fast repairs and many doctrines also have the crew repair ability.
The units that need some boost to their repair speed are Soviets and Ostheer. Most notably because their engis receive a large boost to repair rate only at vet 2 which is hard to obtain if you don't have flamers on both of those squads, who without flamers perform terribly in combat from the mid game onwards.
My suggestion would be to give Soviet and Ostheer engineers a repair boost if they decide to upgrade minesweepers that way they can be more useful since their combat capabilities will be reduced. This way you would have to choose for a squad that can perform well in combat with flamer, or a sweeper squad that can repair well despite not reaching vet 2 (with the rep bonus) very fast. |
Some positive news on more future support, aaanndddddd, everybody is whining again. To be honest, most of the community, me included, don't deserve their support considering our constant salty whining.
Thats completely false. First of all many community members have maintained faith in the game for quite a while despite relic's incompetence. But its gotten to the point where people aren't buying the bs anymore and not caring about the game - which is fair enough. Also suggesting that relic efficiently or even dedicate an adequate amount of people to support the game is laughable. From what I am seeing lately is that community members are doing their best to keep the game afloat, not relic. People have been 'whining' for a long time because thats how long people have been fed up with relics lack of support for the game. |
Translation: We love our community doing everything for us. They create our balance patches, create us maps & skins, and playing in our warpaint tournies, which are just commercials to sell skins(which we didnt even make). We continue to make money while doing the bare minimum. We CoH2.
Also was ESL & warpaint major accomplishments? Nothing really came after ESL. Majority of players & streamers left after ESL and only came back for warpaint (I know because, despite not playing for over a month, a lot of them were still high on the leaderboards #DemBoards). We lost our main balance designer and the balance team but they weren't replaced. The warpaint opening rounds had close to ESL viewership but the finals dropped about 300-500 viewers. There was little point to the physical finals. The penultimate interviews weren't even full screen. Thankfully they got a real webcam for the finals but the audio quality was bad. Ultimately, nothing came from Warpaint.
However Relic is fine with their performance because Warpaint was a commercial to sell skins. The tournament was a way to incentivize the community to buy skins so when the actual tournament started, we saw a lack of Relic support because the tournament served its purpose. There was no real hype. All Kyle did was post a facebook post & a tweet, which weren't promoted (you could get away with not promoting a tweet but a facebook post from a page needs to be promoted due to how the algorithms work; though you would want to promote the shit out the tourny so its a fail to have no ad campaign) Kyle even went on vacation after warpaint started #DatSupport.
At the end of the day, Relic can say all these things to impress their peers & maintain Relic's prestige. However, the truth is far different. No one knows what coh2 is, except for people who remember the original, and it has zero relevance to the esports ecosystem. It is much easier to do the bare minimum so you can say "ESL & Warpaint were a success & We still support our competitive scene" rather than actually making the tournies a success or actually supporting the competitive scene. Relic lacks the tenacity to "hunt with the big dogs & pee in the tall grass" so they stay in their comfort zone. In the comfort zone, they'll continue to make a good ROI from CoH2 and can pad their resume but the trappings of success aren't success. The truth is CoH2 is a failure and Relic doesn't care because they're continuing to make money for the bare minimum of effort.
Nailed it. I can't believe people still fall for relics tricks and bullshit fancy road maps with nice colours and images like it was designed for children. Theres not really much reason to show faith in relic anymore after the lies the produced with their previous road maps. |
The penal satchel is next to impossible to use, not because of the range, but due to the wind up time. The only way you'll ever get that on something (even if buttoned, or snared) will be due to bad pathfinding and the vehicle being completely unsupported.
Either increase the range, since it is a "skill" based toss with a large windup time, or decrease the windup time.
Yeah decrease the windup time while molotovs still cry in the corner. |
the whole reason pershing and calliope were added is because the sherman just was not up to the task.
The task of what? Carrying the usf late game? At this time usf late game was notoriously bad but it wasn't specifically because of the Sherman, it was a number of factors and units which contributed. Overall the Sherman filled its role as a medium tank quite well. |
is the main reason for not giving the 75mm sherman 160 extra hp just to make sure the 75mm sherman have less health than the E8?
Personally, I think the USF tank line have always suffer from a lack of HP. the t34-85 have 800 hp, why not the the E8?
Saying that the 75mm sherman shouldn't have 800 hp because the E8 have 720 is like some kind of nightmare inter-service rivalry where the branches are too busying infighting to actually fight the actual enemy.
better to have one decent unit than a bunch of under-performing units.
The e8 use to have much less hp but it was buffed to 720. This is a discussion about the p4 not the 75mm Sherman which is a completely fine unit that doesn't need changes. The reason you don't see it as much is the change in meta where calliopes and pershings and jacksons have taken larger roles in usf play and going for a Sherman is often a weaker option. |
never touch a running system. leave the p4 untouched. changing may lead into another useless discussion that would not have existed without the vote at all.
That's the thing the p4 isn't fine as it is. It underperforms for its high cost 350 mp 125 fuel, especially for Wehrmacht who have to invest large amounts of manpower to tech up.
Pen increase at all ranges, and moving accuracy buff (not as high as 75%) is whats needed.
The OKW p4 on the other hand I would say is actually often worth its cost since it starts with armoured skirts and has much better veterancy (which increase accuracy, even while moving) and also 5 levels of vet. |
Increase the penetration slightly at all ranges (10 or 20) and buff the moving accuracy from 50 to 60 or 65%.
I would not increase the moving accuracy to the standard 75% since allied vehicles should still maintain an advantage if they were to execute a good flank. The p4 on the other hand should at least be better at slugging it out at longer ranges than its counterparts (Sherman, Cromwell). |
