Thread: State of Tank Balance9 Apr 2019, 00:03 AM Jump back to quoted post8 Apr 2019, 23:33 PMStug life check those superior health and pen values again even ur stats disagree with u, axis get a bit more armor (not even always ex.panther vs comet) while allies gets more pen generally to off set, the health is almost always the same (640) with some outliners in all factions and u forgot the stug Stugs closest counterpart would be the su76, which supports your point about axis= durable and allies=pen since the stug has an extra hit of health and double the armour. There is a difference. And the test was to illustrate that the Kuble CAN in fact kill, despite the claim otherwise. It's too difficult to properly singlehandedly replicate an attack using a Kuble and sturms as is what we would face in an actual game. At any rate I don't see anyone else sacrificing any of their time to create tests, just claims. People want to change the Kuble into another AI vehicle in a faction stacked through the ass with AI and are ignoring the balance problems that a Kuble +sturms would create all because they just want it that way. You won't have a cheap but strong squad that's also able to improve its situation by creating green cover. The problem with Volks is that despite there being 3 squads in the okw army they themselves are designed to do every single task one could want and do it nearly as well or better than their counterparts. Taking away some of what they can do would help justify what they do do. In: COH2 Balance

I'm completely unaware of state of DSHK, but given how no one ever uses it anymore, it probably isn't much better then maxim. Same treatment. The DSHK isn't worth it anymore (although they did buff its pen so that's exciting) same thing though. Make it more expensive and better. It needs the 6 men on account of deathloop unless we experiment with something like increased range to keep it a bit further from the fight and give it more time to suppress (god knows it needs it) Edit: or you could try swapping the DSHK and maxim and bump them both up in price a bit. Then you have a good MG that will devour your map control if you try and over rely on it or you can doctrinally lean on cheaper but worse support. It would complement a penal build by having a cheap MG and also promote side teching if there was a half decent MG to be worth side teching to. Cons might be viable because they have support that supports.... Interesting thought if nothing else. In: COH2 Balance

A more expensive maxim would promote supporting it with conscripts, who one day I hope to be worth their price. The fact that you NEED 2 to be able to suppress anything as it is now already means it's "more expensive" but then you have the pop as well. At 160+260mp there's no damn reason for it to be so bad. But with less health than the German Premium Medium. how exactly did they quantfy "health" in the real world? the pershing is the heaviest tank the USF can field, the pershing uses the heavy tank skin, so the game devs, the only ones that matter on the matter say it is a heavy tank while tough, the panther isnt the most durable tank the axis can field. Solider they buffed penals to WFA levels because having 250mp volks not comparable to 280mp WFA units was an unacceptable route and they CAN'T buff cons so penals were the only option. It got heavy tanks cost, but instead of bundle of survivability and firepower, it gets meh survivability and great firepower. Its got great armour. It's a glass cannon heavy tank but it's still a heavy tank. It's designed to fit the faction. Instead of a unit to soak up fire, which the usf is distinctly designed to lack, they get a highly mobile nuke launcher. In: COH2 Balance

Its late game lack of any scaling that would allow them to contest in any way literally any weapon upgraded squad that is the problem. Vet was buffed twice in attempt to address it, but as evidenced by their late game performance and 100% reliance on doctrines to be of any use past 5th minute, it failed. Idk. Early game they really don't offer enough field prsence for what they bring. They are matched in presence by both axis factions but they can take that infantry to the late game and they don't need to pump a whack of fuel and manpower into them either. Like i said earlier in the thread, even a con heavy build + upgrades runs you more than a rifle squad but most certainly doesn't bring the flexibility or actual power. In: COH2 Balance
