Had two bad cases of this just last night.
One went to the effort to post on my steam account how shit I played and that I must be mentally handicapped because we both had a bad game. I did play bad that game but he was far worse.
Another guy abused me for not capping the central point of the map in a 4v4 in Lienne Forrest when I was based on the far right starting in the south of the map as Brits (I was rushing to get to green cover for star and ammo forest side) but doesn't stop people loosing their crap..
I just give up trying to understand it. |
I ran a survey on asymmetrical balance and besides me no one seems to want it.
The reason Ost and Sov are so well structure is because they have the ability to have a counter for everything. I do not buy the fact this game would stop working if you added more units to it. MGs, sniper and indirect fire (Transportable in the UKF case) should be viable options for every faction. I am not saying the stats, timing and implementation need to be the same but some units are just mandatory for countering differing situations.
Also why can we not have more baseline infantry units options. Would it not be nice to have multiple unit types without going specific commanders for differing situations.
Take US, they have rifleman rifleman and rifleman. They screwed up the DPS increase to the RE with having the reinforce cost nearly the same as the rifles so they do not count. Add pathfinders or another unit to offer variety to changing circumstances. I cannot think of one viable reason why their isn't more unit variety to this game.

This should be more of a question is why can't relic unlike other companies offer small tweaks to stat changes instead of using a sledge hammer. Slight tweaks and test till the sweet spot is found. Honestly some of the changes don't require a pro to see is way to excessive. |
I have used it against OKW blobs and whilst it can kite them effectively the accuracy is terrible. In a 2v2 spent most my time microing it against the OKW horde of AT wielding Volks and yes I might wipe 2 models in a shot but a blob of 4-5 squads doesn't care. The range either needs to be increased, the HP higher or an increased rate of fire.
As it stands Volks just keep chasing it meaning it is ineffective at its intended roll. Doesn't stop a blob, just gives them something to run after. |
The problem with team games in RTS is the fact that they're just too difficult to watch and follow. They're fun to play, sure, but they make for crappy spectating, especially because if you're interested in team games, why wouldn't you watch one of the many popular team-based competitive games out there that were specifically designed for that sort of thing?
Team RTS games, especially 3v3/4v4, are impossible to follow from a spectating perspective because there's just too much shit happening. The unfortunate truth is RTS is a 1v1 genre in a time when people would much rather watch proper, focused team play that they can follow easily. Dota and CS are very tight, focused team games that were specifically designed for that style of play. RTS games are by their nature extremely unfocused, which makes them interesting to watch 1v1 but a complete chore to watch 4v4.
Maybe they need a creative team within Relic to start another potential team based mod/game mode within the engine to take advantage of the team based approach for competitive play. DOTA had such beginnings. Do something to make the viewing experience less of a cluster f&$k for the viewer to watch team games and giving casters the tools they need to show it off to the world. Maybe it's to late and they need to move onto the next game as I cannot see this being any more then a half arsed attempt to flog this dead horse for a bit more cash. |
CoH2 has a massive player base, relatively speaking http://steamcharts.com/app/231430#All
Yes that is the main problem with this game. Some top CoH2 players don't even know the basics
By massive you mean less the Age of Empires 2 first released in 1999... |
Should be removed in base. Sick of Early tank crushing on retreating units. Zooks don't even come close to stopping it and would rather see a light At in bases to prevent this. Forward retreat points are fair game |
The only utility the T34 has is the ability to run over infantry on retreat back in the enemy base. If it dies who cares but take a couple vetted infantry with it and worth it. Otherwise it is about as useful as merkins, they exist but who the hell buys one.

In other games the salt can be reduced by having a ranked mode and non-ranked. It is frustrating loosing when anything counts towards stats or play cards. It forces people to follow the meta and not want to try new things or join automatch games.
If you could opt for nothing to count then maybe the rng gods insta wiping 3 squads in a row won't leave me grey before my time and a fist imprint in the door.
If you are in the mood and want the match to count you can do it when you are in the mood. |
If the matchmaking were more kind to the new players, maybe we would see a bigger playerbase in automatch. Who knows...
Make the base game f2p. Why not? They charge an arm and a leg for the rest of it anyway. When the game first came out it had over $140 worth of I game purchases on week one. Pair the new players up with each other to not scare them off from the beginning (try playing Starcraft 2 against Koreans and it's the same feeling for new CoH2 players). They will eventually enter into the normal pool of player improving search time for all.
If that doesn't work then this game will start to decrease in player base and they should just balance the game and move on to the next DoW or CoH. |
