The Infantry armor system may have been complex but it was better for overall balance.
The whole point of the vet system is unit preservation which rewards you for keeping your units alive. This is why everyone wants extra squad models in COH 2 because the rng is so random that there are times that you simply cannot do anything to prevent a wipe.
Infantry Armor prevents that by allowing units to be counters to specific units vs doing generic damage vs everything. Coh 2 mortar could do 100 damage for example, and it would be the same regardless of what it hits while in Coh 1 that mortar would do 100 damage to Machine Guns (the thing it was meant to counter) while doing 50 damage to a 3 man squad, and 75 damage to a 4 man squad. Basically it prevented more BS than the current system
Think you are confusing target tables and armor.
Target tables allow units to do more or less damage to specific units.
Infantry armor does no such thing.
CoH1 had a completely different armor system with different armor "types" and different HP on entities but that has nothing to do with armor infatry had in COH2.
not sure why this would turn the M4C into a 'no brainer', the unit is already relatively bad AI-wise, and will be even less potent (75mm-sherman-on-AT-rounds-bad to be precise) if the ROF nerf goes live as is. i see no reason why the MGs should't be at least on par with that of any other sherman variant in the game, even if only for consistency's sake. after all i don't think the reason for the current nerf was that the M4C was too good versus infantry, but rather that the regular AT shells were too potent against even heavily armored tanks.
There is very little reason to have different mgs on the 76mm Sherman they should be fixed.
This would be NICE, so we can be less reliant on mainline sandbag spam for cover throughout the game (not that you WANT to lose vehicles...).
Give me 100% health wrecks! Or more!
For Vipper: The panther is a general heavy tank, so its good vs everything. Which it is. Better vs tanks, but still good vs inf.
Feel free to describe as you like, fact remains that it fills the role of TD, regardless of any other role you might want to add.
please, Panther is not a classical TD like Jpz4. It is prem-medium tank or high weight medium that forcus on AT department.
Because panther nature, He can stand alone with EVERY ALIES GENARAL TANKs and Inf ( with pintle MG).
Is that make sense to you ?
No it does not much sense, using a weight classification to avoid answering a questions does not make sense.
Regardless of everything else Panther in game is vehicle designed to counter other vehicles and thus has the role of a TD. So the questions still stands which unit feels the role of a TD better?
