The problem with the unit (similar to ST) has to do more with the damage out put and less with durability. I suggest you change the squad wiping machine design and adding a hard cap on number of entities it an kill with the shot. One could increase secondary damage to compensate.
Rear armour should adjusted to other units.
Also consider increase CP.
Sturmtiger
Consider increasing CP, hard cap on kills.
Move to another commander
Ambush Camouflage
Simply break the camo/sprint combo that should not be available in the first place and make them 2 separate abilities.
(same goes for Commando sprint and ppsh/hit the dirt)
Imo to many ost vehicles overlap in aa ai and at in varying degrees. This is what makes the ostwind feel underwelming.
I can't say I agree, ostheer main weakness is the luck of a light tank or light tank counter and the popularity of the doctrinal Puma is very strong indication of this.
Imo the issue with Ostwind has more to with fact that is not that cheaper from PzIV which has good enough AT and far superior vs all type of vehicles.
Agreed suppression on the move is bad as it makes vehicles way to potent. If it should be changed (wich i still think it shoudnt as ost has the highest suppression mg stock) the timed ability as vet ability, replacing blitz, increased price,do reduced damage and have a long cooldown.
The okw flaktrack suppresses to quickly, toning that down a bit should do the trick imo.
Imo the issue with OKW AAHT has more to do with damage it does and less with its suppression speed. I personally would test two firing modes one that did damage and one that suppressed but did less damage.
the M-42 AT gun is kinda trash, the shrapnel range is pathetically small and puts it into direct enemy fire, practically useless in a lot of situations.
The AT's probably fine, although it completely falls apart after actual tanks arrive. I'd say that the shrapnel range should be increased (maybe at even vet or when you build T-4), or the AT gun cost reduced to like 200, I really cant see this being worth 240mp in it's current state.
Having M-42 fire AI rounds that out-range small arm fire has been tried and the unit was op.
Unrelated, but the completely competent mod team decided to fix this little AT gun faster than they're fixing the sturmtiger right now, its hilarious
I am not sure why some people feel the need to trash talk the MOD team or to accuse of being biased but one in this case it completely of mark. The MOD team has nothing to do with timing of patches, that decision comes straight from Relic.
What a diversity, going machine guns and engineers/osttruppen in order to spam out pgrens
"diversity in Wehrmacht unit compositions" means different builds than just HMG +4 grens. Basically allowing PGs to be incorporated in the army composition.
You can rush for pzgren in the first 3-5 minutes of the match, and there is no allied infantry at that stage with enough veterancy to fight back against them unless you blob lmfao.
And before the change PG come so late that there was little reason to build them.
The problem started when powerful allied infantry become available earlier, resulting PG to become too weak at their old timing (obers too).
I personally would delay the pace, the mod team choose to increase by making PG available earlier.
Point here is that there were reason to make PG/Ober available earlier unlike what was claimed.
You don't understand, Sherman HE shell is a poor's man shield. I personally don't think it is that better than the P4, in some specific circumstances probably but anytime a P4 is nearby and you don't have an Atgun close-by then the P4 is better because even if it deals a little less AI damage its a threat to anything with the same type of shell and superior survivability.
So at the end, every time the P4 is fielded the P4 is better.
Look at the top players, what do they spam every time they play Ostheer once they reach T3, the P4 and then call-in a Tiger. What are they doing when they play USF, 2xSherman76 with maybe 1 M4A3 and then Jackson.
Statistically, on paper, the sherman is great vs infantry but its an overkill to mask the reality that the tank deal poorly in any other aspect of the game and at the stage it hit the field what you need is something consistent on which you can pivot your infantry, not an overkill AI tank that translate terribly into the late game because of its inexistant survivability vs late game units unlike the P4 that will continue to pose a threat to the Jackson, Firefly or Su-85.
If in your opinion PzIV is thread to Jackson you are simply doing something wrong when playing the game.
Panzergrenadiers should be built from tier 2 like they used to, not a single reason for that buff existed but the insightful dev team did it anyway
Here are two reason:
"Panzergrenadiers
Panzergrenadiers are having their timing changed to allow them to gain veterancy sooner and increase diversity in Wehrmacht unit compositions before further changes are made to their performance."
You should read your own post. Their was next to no guessing on my part. You stated the dev teams point of view and agreed with the ostwind being subpar for cost and stating several issues regarding its at power and accuracy. There is almost no room for geussing. I dont want to focus on this guess or not any further
If you agree that Ostwind currently is not that good vs vehicles especially on the move, which is what I have posted, we can simply move on.
Now that you suggested nerfing it to put it 80 fuel makes sense. The window of oppertunity being increased as well. But then allowing it to supress by default is still not a good idea, the flack is already excelent cuz it can supress next to the mg34 they control inf to effective this way.
Also
I personally do not like vehicles that can suppress on the move.
Imo if a vehicle has suppression that should probably come from a timed ability and it should do reduced damage at the time.
In the case of the OKW AAHT one could have 2 different firing modes one doing damage the other trading suppression for damage.
