When was last time anyone have seen KV-2 again?
You are debating on nerfing a unit that no one ever wants to use for purpose other then pure lolz and 'you are so bad I can field KV-2 against you'.
Actually I had it used against twice in the last week.
KV-2 as many other unit, need veterancy bonuses and abilities tailor made for the unit's role but that does not justify it having high rear armor value.
...
What...
ISG had to be nerfed to allow for pit nerf, otherwise it would be OP by outranging it with Basic fire and ist not like it was not already 2nd best indirect light weapon in game.
HMG43 Crew was OP as it were regular volks instead of usual gimped Crew models for all other weapon Teams.
...
Another nice but flawed theory. OKW support weapon crews where nerfed for consistency reasons.
And that is the reason why HMG-34 was eventually re-balanced and not simply have the crew nerfed.
But this is irrelevant to this thread so pls try to stay on topic.
You were the one who made a point of German tank "Aces". I was responding by showing that tank aces, while talented and experienced combatants, probably had their total inflated, had higher totals due to multiple other factors than their tanks, and were an example of poor doctrine (using experienced troops in the field instead of having them use their experience to improve the training of new troops).
Yes I did and the argument was that one can not achieve so many kills (even if some where inflated) depending on an unreliable machine. A Tank that achieve so many kills is reliable.
- ascribing to the Ace the kills made by others because that was better for propaganda
- many of the kills also being against earlier and less competitive opposition equipment
The German armor was inferior or equal at best to Soviet until the introduction of Panther.
All of the above we know had a factor in high pilot kill counts.
See the below short youtube:
If you want to comparison with planes I have to point out that since the allies had planes that matched or outperformed German planes they easily gained air superiority.
All has hardly anything to do with Sherman that was an inferior Tank.
Yes, and Primary reason you are getting luchs in your games is to scout with it, no one ever gets it for ist Performance vs infantry, but specifically for scouting, right?
If and why I getting a Luch is irrelevant. A unit can be good vs infantry and a reconnaissance vehicle like the T-70, your argument and theory that is has to be one or the other is simply wrong.
Since you are so fond on using Relic and modder as an argument according to Relic Luch is a reconnaissance vehicle.
50 range, 50 sight and its mobility Warrant is being perfectly safe when engaging med armor frontally, ist perfectly capable to effectively kill all meds up front with exception of war speed brit tanks. It performs best when flanking due to its Penetration Profile, but is still very effective frontally as it can effortelessly kite and poke.
Try calculating the chance to hit and penetrate a medium tank a range 50 or even provide a video of you using a Puma and demonstrate how "effortelessly" you can "kill all medium up front"
Only thing that keeps puma in check is its pen profile.
However you can not deny its a TD.
Its fast(like Jackson), it got sight(like Jackson), it got turret(like Jackson), majority of the time you would use it exactly the same way as Jackson, simply against lighter targets.
A unit can be a an antitank unit and reconnaissance vehicles at the same time, your argument and theory that is has to be one or the other is simply wrong.
I will not even dignify the argument of Puma/jackson comparison with an answer.
There are no flaws with his theory, read the full post instead of just picking sentences.
Whoever uses Puma as reconnaissance only has never fully discovered their full potential as mid game enemy tank deterring unit. I wouldn't call it a tank-destroyer, but that would be an useless bickering on schematics.
Flanking with a Puma is a clear no-no, and no experienced player would ever do that.
Just watch some high level games where Puma is used. You claim simply demonstrates you lack of game knowledge.
Historical accuracy is not applicable to 95% of units in the game for any other purpose then lore fluff. If historical accuracy was in any way respected in CoH2, Luchs would be a reconnaissance vehicle as that is exactly what it was in late war.
In CoH2 Puma is a tank destroyer designed to murder all light armor and contest all med armor, especiallz at higher vet, when it gets regular 160dmg.
Arguing that Puma is anything else then light TD with 50 sight range is arguing historical semantics.
Another nice theory with flaws.
Luch is reconnaissance vehicle in game and that is why it gets cloak at vet 1 and +30% sight range at vet 3.
Your description of the Puma is also wrong. Puma is "flanker" since it accuracy and penetration does not allow it to engage enemy vehicles at long ranges.
In the end of day they Puma has nothing common with M36 and should not be compared with it.
As for historical accuracy pls read and understand the sentence in the section you quoted.
Shreck on 5 men squads would probably still be bad.
(Hardly as bad they where before since allot have changed.
AT infantry do not vet as fast as they used to, which was a major part of the problem.
VG vetting has been nerfed and not it vet bonuses are lower than their equivalent.)
My suggestion would be to test giving the VGs the option (after unlocking their second truck) to upgrade with AT and to replace 2 of their K98 with panzerfaust that would be fired as normal AT weapon and not as ability.
The Panzerfaust should probably have to be weaker than bazooka long range but stronger in range bellow 20.
That would allow OKW to defend from medium/light rush while the AT VG would have very limited AI and they will not be not be easy to be bloded.
they are much slower than tiger or p4 if u really want to nerf the rear amror of churchil and kv1 u need to buff their mobility at the very least (main gun or frontal armor too) ex: remove 40 armor form the rear of the churchill and add it to the front
No they are not.
Tiger max speed is 5.2
KV-1 max speed is 5.1
Again if KV-1 need more armor that should come via veterancy.
As for Churchill I would rather have it become better at supporting infantry and have some more utility like the WP smore move to it as vet 1 ability.
