I would be tempted to test it as infantry AT working more like shreck than an ATG, since it also rocket and not normal gun.
Reduce damage, reduce penetration add deflection damage reduce response times by allot.
Give it 180+180 arc when in trench.
Also fix the veterancy bonuses so that both cloak and garrison benefit from veterancy instead of current basically cloak approach. |
Of course tank traps build faster than sandbags and if they change it to RE havign sandbags and no longer tank traps they can no logner block tanks
R.E. should not be able to block tanks and lay mines.
Tank trap should be move to assault engineers. |
If you force the Jackson away doesn't that mean you won the engagement?
Not if the M36 is back in action faster than one's vehicles. Not if one has not managed to win a inch of ground.
The question remains in your opinion is the M36 as suggested by firesparks better balanced than the current live? |
Thats actually a nerf to USF
R.E. having sandbags instead of tank traps is nerf? |
Also, the leig has a barrage range that is equal to a 120 at Vet 0 and increases at Vet 1 while the 120 must wait till Vet 3 to get a range increase. The leig also has a faster rate of fire. All with less popcap and less MP required.
The rest comes down to RGN.
That is incorrect the barrage range is 100.
Leig is far less effective than any mortar and it has real issues hitting anything behind a shot blocker.

That still is not instant, again do not camp being scared, scare away and wound TD, barrage team weapons and push.
Sure Dynamics of that in 4v4 are different, but I hope we do not talk about that.
Alternatively, with a quick recon and a bit of luck, you can barrage the zones where the tank will be repaired to get a crew kill. I often do that in 2on2 especially on tighter maps. Self repairs are not always a benefit, they still require micro and they can get wiped easily especially when the player is busy elsewhere. Unexpected win!
I am not going to explain the benefit of crew repair on thread about the M36.
If in you opinion, the M36 as suggested by Firesparks is better solution then the current live one, I would suggested you make it clear and push for the change. |
Why would it?
Why people believe its a nonono to ever lose a squad in skirmish, but armored combat is not won unless it ends up with fatality?
You made him retreat and repair, he is out of combat for some time, stop camping and shaking in your pants and push now!
Since USF can crew repair and OKW need SP for everything you can not win by out-repairing your opponent.
In addition JP4 do not push they are TDs not tanks. |
I do not understand why people hate on the 120mm mortar. Sure it makes for bigger booms from further away than the standard non-doctrinal mortars but the drawback is slower deploy, reload and movement speed on top of it's higher MP cost.
Try playing OKW and have your truck attack with a weapon that you little means to fire back at and you might understand.
The 120 does not have slower movement speed, that is incorrect.
"Flavor" wise, the fact that it can retreat with 1 model makes sense though I can imagine how frustrating that can be to axis players in a balance sense. I always have a 120mm mortar commander in my rotation because you never know when you are going to get the Ost player bunching up a 3 mortar opener just begging to be exploited.
"flavor" wise the Rakketen crew having a target size of 1.25 made sense, it even made sense balance wise since Rakketen are notorious for dying with 1 shot, yet that was considered and Bug and was "normalized". |
it was 3 axis game of mixed.
In that case it not safe to make conclusion about the OKW performance since it has more to do with the synergy of the 2 faction than the individual performance of each factions. (Better infantry from OKW better support weapon from Ostheer.) |
okw have jp4.
the wehr lack 60m range unit beside the pak, but that's why the jackson sight is limited to 45+5. a lone jackson is still vulnerable to the stug and panther vet 2.
There's a reason why Jackson get a hp nerf to 480 in the proposal. this is to ensure the Jackson will still lose in a prolong engagement, but have the tool to retreat.
And units like the puma is by nature a high micro unit. People will make mistake, "pro" just make less of them.
JP4 does not have the speed to chase the M36 you propose.
Neither the Stug.
Unless cloaked M36 will be able to spot most opponents first and using smoke will be able to flee unfavorable engagement.
Again it will not work the Puma since the Puma is rather bad long range but more like a sniper. As you say the M36 user will have to make a mistake to lose it. That imo is bad design. |
