Except, there is no such thing as type of squad in coh2. There was in coh1 though and it was widely used in accurancy tables. In coh2, the squads differ only with there stats, so you can say that squads with less recieved accurancy are more "elite", but you can't label them as "elite".
Yet some weapon are different depending on who is using it.
Bren on Commandos is for an "elite" unit, while tommies get another versions and Ro.E. used to get a third version. |
The current implementation of Weapons that one can pick is complicated with different solution for different weapons and problematic.
A unified solution should be implemented where these weapons performed according to the "type" of unit that pick them up with "auxiliary" troops using a lesser version, "mainline" the "normal" version and elite a better version. |
controversially I'd prefer it if the only snares in game for all factions were mines but that's not going to happen.
That runs the risky of turning the game into pushing/crushing infantry party like in COH1 which in my opinion was extremely bad. |
With this logic I could say, that when a T70 and the Panther are the only vehicles in game and the T70 would get 50% extra armor at vet 3 and the Panther would 10% extra armor at vet 3,the Panther has the weakest veterancy in game lol
Panther 10% extra armor is actually a very weak veterancy bonus. It hardly makes any difference, especially with the penetration vet bonuses most AT units get and the XP value of the Panther. |
How did the myth of the "terribad IS2" even begin anyway?...
Probably by people like the self-proclaimed "number 1 allied fanboy", who seem to feel the need to exaggerate about everything. |
When was the last time you have seen IS-2 used by anyone?
Do people even remember how it looks?
You're much more likely to see high armor axis vehicle then allied one(unless you count KV-1 here as well as that's pretty decent one).
PLS explain which, in you opinion, is a high armor value. |
I guess we can all agree that brits are not in the best position right now, what u say Ulumule viper or shadowlink ? Any ideas how to fix that ?
Imo they need a redesigning.
The basis of that redesigning could be the anvil/hammer choice that could available for every tier giving the player different choices for his/her game play at different stages of the game.
Anvil could be more about defense and emplacement and anvil could be more about aggression and mobility. |
...
IMO if you wanna improve cromwell you should buff it vet bonuses - not the basic version.
The vet system needs a real good look. Vetting speed, vetting abilities and vet bonuses need an overhaul and unit should be balanced so that they remain balanced even when they are vetted. |
TIL combat situation is only for hits.
Small test i done.
Single model squad with invulnerability been targeted by different weapons with focus fire false ("scatter weapons"). Several other single model squads been put at it's sides and behind.
-While performance changed depending the weapon, all of them would be able to hit models from other squads. Things like .50 cal doesn't have too much horizontal scatter, therefore it was only killing models which were behind the one which was targeted. STG/BAR/MG42/Kubel had a more widespread hitting.
-Even if the target behind them were cloaked (snipers with hold fire), they were revealed by the time some "scatter" shot hit them.
It seem that this verifies what I posted. Scatter weapon can re-roll and hit other entities but on the other hand they do not hit via collision because they do not have projectile. |
IIRC the BAR has scatter, so missed shots can collide with other units. Raketens can be revealed this way.
Even if it has scatter it does not have a projectile that is in needed for a collisions hit as far as I know.
And as far as I know crew entities can not stop projectiles only the gun itself could be hit. |
