222. isn't your early form of AT though. |
If your going to have an Elite Infantry thats better than allied elite inf, while also having Volks which are better than all basic allied inf, barring vet 3 riflemen...then you should probs nerf late game armour for OKW for balance. |
This seems a little strong |
I can't help but feel this AEC buff is justified by three things:
1) You have to give up the Bofors to choose the AEC.
2) British Empire Infantry have no AT snare nor AT weapons that don't require complicated Attack-Ground commands to hit.
3) British Empire's T0 and T1 setup is very very poor and lazy, and is in need of a rework.
If you fix at least some of this, I wouldn't mind reverting the buff or nerfing. |
both units have a purpose and do well at what they're supposed to do. especially the AEC has a decent window where there are no "hard counters" possible (AEC can easily run away from anything that could seriously threaten it when it hits the field).
as i've mentioned before, if the AEC/UC are "bad", what is the 222 or the 251 (ost halftrack)?
There is no window of opportunity when Shrecks are on the field enmass. Shrecks come before the AEC.
Perhaps making the 6-Pounder into a quicker unit will allow it to efficiently counter Light Vehicles in absence of a useable Light Vehicle for the British Empire... |
so how is this all related to UKF in particular? ofc, if one faction is weak, its team game win ratio will be even lower... not because it is "worse" in those modes, but because it is more likely that two players of the same faction will lose the same game, thus adding two loses to the stats (also, if the faction in particular is "weaker", the chances of winning drop as well the more players are playing the particular faction in the same game).
thats why argueing with team game win ratios is flawed in the first place (or should at least taken with a grain of salt). balancing 1v1 will automatically make team games more balanced as well. now, please, back to topic.
Balancing 1vs1 doesn't take into account inter-faction balance with regards to unit combinations, overall team unit availability and differences in teching structure (like Ostheer superior Team Crew Weapons + Oberkommando 4 Minute Luchs rushes/Volk Infantry amassing at cheap cost)
This, needs to be examined as well. |
It was inevitable. Relic just aren't AAA-class Devs. They will be chasing their tails to clear up the grotesque mess this patch has done; it hasn't fixed a single issue. |
I cannot think of a single instance in which building an AEC is actually useful. It's a fart in the wind and completely unreliable; much like the Universal Carrier. I think we can improve it alittle; or make it at least more worthwhile choice to unlock, if the AEC Unlock Tech didn't simply unlock AEC.
Perhaps if it also unlocked a infantry-based AT Snare? Can also tack on a bonus to the Bofors unlock. Remember, picking AEC locks out the Bofors. While its ok for the Axis Puma to be as strong as it is; Axis don't need to sacrifice a core unit/building just to build it.
The alternative is simply to remove the fuel cost associated with unlocking the AEC. In this new era of 4 minute Luchs rushes and intense Axis light vehicle play; alongside extreme Oberkommando West costless teching with Bastion-strength OKW Forward Bases...that this makes sense. |
hmmmm.... i like how the "nose dive" is play rate, and for win rates ofc only 4v4 matches are considered :-D
![](https://www.coh2.org/file/10157/coh2chart.png)
when in reality, its mostly the play rate for UKF that plummeted, while in turn OKW skyrocketed.
UKF has highest/2nd highest win rate for months? Totally fine.
They dip for a few days after OKW gets buffed? OMG, BUFF ALLIES, NERF AXIS !!!!!!111111oneeleven
it's also funny how it's emphasized that now brits are even worse than OST :-D
maybe if OP played a single game as axis during the last few months (and did a similar thing for ost/okw back then) he could be taken seriously. but, with things they are right now:
![:lolol: :lolol:](/images/Smileys/sHa_dielaughing.gif)
The same could be said for Axis players at the beginning of CoH2; and again at the release of Oberkommando West however. |
The statistics match the hypothesis presented in the OP. The problem with a big rebalancing like this, is you need to account for change in the other factions; otherwise it leads to a disharmony with balance.
They improved OKW which is great; but they didn't keep it in line with other factions. Consequently; OKW now runs over everything. |
