I assume it should also reset it vet system and block share vetterancy I've been wondering the same thing actually, I've been interested in having base model vehicles in each Army which then could be upgraded to special variants through unlocking tiers and commanders. So for example you'd have a base 251 which you could upgrade with flamethrowers, the Walking Stuka, the Owl infra red search light, the Flak gun and so on. The US M3 halftrack would be the same thing, you'd get the upgrade to a mortar one, to the flak one, to the M16 Quad .50 cal mount one and so forth. It's basically something like the 221 but for more vehicles, even the Shermans for example could be done in such a manner. I also wanted to mention that it's pretty interesting how we have similar ideas for the HQ Glider. I based mine off of the Operation Market Garden use of them as well as Europe at War and of course the UKF HQ Glider already in game in the Vanguard Operations Regiment, but looking at it now I should make tweak my suggestion a bit since the forward retreat is indeed a good idea and you could save up from the Major then. Ostheer units have the potent sprint, even before it was introduced into camouflage via Encirclement. Veteran Riflemen never got a rework and was outright removed which would have been a perfect squad leader upgrade like we have for Grenadiers at the cost of a weapon slot. As for what could be done off-the-bat, 'Flares' should be merged with 'Fired-Up' which should no longer have a de-buff. Speaking of changers for Rifle Company, I am guessing that the free slot opened up by the merge of the 2 abilities would be taken up by Riflemen Defenses? If so I have a question of whether or not it's possible to also somehow include the M1919A6s in the commander instead of the RE flames for example or if they were merged as well? The simple reason being is that, well, it's an ability for another unit which are not riflemen and frankly, the commander is meant to be focused around them lol. Apart from those things and a rework of the E8 tho I think it would be once again a solid commander choice. In: COH2 Gameplay

A friend of mine implemented a sort of anti-blob debuff system like the one you're suggesting but in CoH for a mod. He put an aura around each infantry model that detected if there are any other friendly infantry models in an aura, 1 or 2 models might be an exception because of the squad's members, however if there were 5 models all in the same place it the debuff started to go into effect. Sure it got the job done but the strain on the CPU was massive for some people since the aura sent a report to the game if there were any models in the auras every second or so, that might not sound like much for the newer CPUs nowadays but the older ones will suffer, plus the game engine is old and even if you put it on a NASA computer it will still lag. Was it fake or were the assets actually in the game for it? I posted the picture of the Panther about a week ago saying that eliw00d and perhaps a few others managed to import the models over from CoH but like I said there, they disabled it for one reason or another back in 2013. Its still barely used and not very good. I think balance team dont really have any idea what to do with the 76mm and e8. If they turned 76mm into standard medium tank like t34/85 and p4 (ok vs armor and inf) and then made e8 more like panther/comet (good armor and hp, good penetration but low reload speed and anti inf performance) then we could use these tanks in new commanders to make them good. Just use 76mm model with some special skin and sandbags and its pretty much Jumbo since these tanks looked almost the same. I asked the creator of the CoH2 realism mod yesterday if it's possible to add sandbags to the Sherman model and he said no. I am not 100% sure if that's true or not because I haven't tried it myself nor do I know how or have the time but going by his experienced words I am guessing that it's how he says it. For me it'd be best to include the Pershing and E8 in a commander so they don't overshadow each other and fix the E8 like they did with the 76 Sherman. In: Lobby

Thread: New Commander Submission - Discuss13 Jan 2019, 08:39 AM Jump back to quoted post13 Jan 2019, 08:30 AMjincx am i only one who thinks adding more commanders dont bring fun in but instead merge some commanders and tweak them for more balanced , effective and enjoyable games?. bringing more commanders in wont solve the main problem, the balance and late game in my opinion There is also the problem of the Eastern Front Armies having twice the amount of commanders than the Western Front ones and the Brits as well, so while it's easier to do what you have in mind for the Soviets and Ostheer, it's harder to do so for the other 3 Armies, there is just limited variation which you can achieve and so on. Plus the problem of having "bad" commanders is again amplified by their numbers, there is a difference between having 4 underwhelming or at least not as often used commanders out of 8 or 9 compared to 10 or so commanders out of 19 or 20 for example.
