that's why i always advocated for obersoldatens to be renamed basedsoldatens
meanwhile a full hp vet3 commando squad dying from a single king tiger shell
"Terminator units immune to bullets!" or T-800s lol.
Well they had it coming if they send a commando squad anywhere near heavy armour. They can do literally nothing to it, even the cooked ham will bounce off.

If you see Obers in pairs, be very careful about wiping because if one squad is wiped and drops the LMG 34 - a dual LMG34 Ober squad just deletes any inf it sees. Much less pain to surrender than bleed out of your eyes.
StG Volks behind sandbags are extremely annoying to remove, even with flamethrowers, as they can shred most things on approach across open ground.
Vetted SPs are very hard to get but have a tendency to vaporise most squads it meets. Paradoxically this means they see less combat too as they are even more exceptionally good repairers and constructors now.
Vet V Kubel does suppress within 2-3 bursts and very few ppl are aware of this.
USF T0 mortar is in fact still a mortar and not just a glorified smoke machine.
For some reason, opponents struggle to handle the double BARs Major. It's as if the concept does not compute in their minds.
KV-2 gets bonus range with vet II, (+25% range of fire in normal mode, +14.3% range in siege mode) up to 80 total in siege mode.

Is this phenomena just based on RNG? Or is it a left over bug from vCoh. I recall some certain amount of health (2-5%) that made the unit invincible. You know. Because Relic things.
I think it's just RNG? The shots were nearby misses, though it wouldn't surprise me that there is a 2-5% hp bug? That said I've lost models before to "nearby misses" so it's not so clean cut. |
Near death 1 model vet V Ober retreating through the centre of Ettelbruck, gets targeted directly by a Cromwell and a Comet, ignoring everything else. 3 shots but it still escapes |
if it were an axis ptrs it would be wtfop though
Hear hear.
This new info also explains some suspicious lost fights where my Obers got crushed in heavy cover vs firing position Guards. I had put it down to just RNG. Another thing to put on a hoped-for-new-patch. |
Smoke & blob. Smoke & blob. Use that T0 mortar. Enemy MGs are your main problem. Vet I Major is your friend for his 50 sight range, smoke, arty and recon abilities. If you're feeling lucky, can even try the double BARs Major. Jackson should be able to handle most armour threats. |
Well yes, OST early game, midgame and part of late game is just better/easier than OKW. That's the power of a full toolkit for you. OKW only has real advantages with a tiny sliver at the start and of course the very late game. |
It's cost me a game with a pit that really needed to die (to an LeFH), but the only thing you can do is just let them fire, no matter how bad the new target situation is. Maybe the enemy will wander something into the fire zone, who knows.
EDIT: This bug has been brought up before (including by yours truly), but I think there just were too many other more pressing issues to deal with previously. |
So is the jackson
So is the Sherman according to many ppl |
I know it doesn't realistically work, but I was really hoping for a more post-ww2 coh3 with M48 and leopard 1s against T-62s and T-64s. Then we give glorious USA M1A2
INB4 M1A2 is killed frontally by T-54 due to RNG? Leopard 1 was a literal paper tank that even PTRS could threaten death with lol.
Back to the topic, I am curious what other 'unusual' tanks we'll be getting in COH3. I'm still getting a laugh out of Germany's entire Sturmtiger arsenal being deployed in a single game, at times |
