I don't know whether I just had some bad RNG using the Pershing, but it was getting shredded by a Shrek blob which I thought wouldn't happen w/ 290 armor. It was also being penetrated pretty hard by Raketens.
I don't think you can have a ~230 fuel heavy tank w/ 800 HP. It's way too much of an investment that can be lost way too easily, especially w/ all the insanely strong Axis AT units like the Pak-43, Jagd, Elefant, KT, etc. The rest of America's glass cannons are ok because they are cheap and expendable, but the Pershing is not, and while you have a little more room for error, it is not nearly enough to justify its cost.
It either needs more HP to be a little more survivable or it needs a fuel cost reduction. Other than that, I guess it's fine, no matter how ridiculous it is that a tank that expensive can't reliably penetrate a Panther or better. |
Before the British forces were released, i had a slightly difficult time finding people to play Axis sided games with... Which just amazes me because of the high search numbers of people playing team games as Axis back then, right?
After the British were released it's almost impossible to convince my friends to play Axis now. The German side is and always will be my favorite side simply because i think they look cooler. I've only played 2-3 axis games and nothing but a ton of allied games since the British forces came out... it's not bad but... i really want to play my favorite faction again okw ostheer
I miss it
I would try just doing auto-match and playing with randoms BUT due to horrible experiences, i don't like playing with randoms because they always end up idiots or assholes. I just want some cool friends to play with....
Would anyone be up to play a couple of games as Axis with me sometime?.... preferably if you have team-speak...
There are plenty of Wehraboos in every corner of every COH 2 community on the net... they are like roaches, and they scuttle out en mass to whine and weep when certain Allied units or abilities become too difficult for their super tanks and Shrek blobs to handle w/ select all and attack move.
Jokes aside, if you genuinely cannot find people to play with, and you aren't looking for top 100 MLG competitive players, just suffer through some automatches. You are guaranteed to run into some decent players eventually. Add them to your Steam friends after the game and start playing AT w/ them. Easy peezy. |
Just shows you, axis are going to gripe on the forums about things that they didn't even test out and lie about, just so they can attempt to hold onto their op weapons...nothing new here. Sadly the devs were probably sitting there agreeing with them on this thread..probably got a red alert on their computers that axis are crying and they need to nerf something of allies, without realizing they didn't update their own game they never test lol.
Red alert on their computers that Axis are crying... funny as hell. |
Recoup losses seems completely counter-intuitive to OKW's "few but elite" doctrine. It would be more fitting for SU. Seems weird. I'd even suggest to replace it.
It's not gonna make a big difference, as suggested by the first few replies. Never play OKW but pretty apparent the faction floats tons of MP while waiting for fuel. This ability might let them roll out an extra squad of Obers or something in the middle of a game, which will help them deal w/ hordes of vetted Allied infantry.
It's a nice little passive ability IMO. |
Im just big fan of Priests spam, Paras with thompson and Assault Engis, that's why I alway have problems with picking doctrines... Armor or Airborne... (talking about 2v2) ![:) :)](/images/Smileys/smile.gif)
I do love sailing over the pop cap with Priests w/ Infantry Company. I will miss them. |
lol just hope they keep the tank durable cuz USF already have enough cardboard ronson cookers that cant withstand the wide array of godlike AT that the axis have
Expect to run into the Pak-43 when using this commander, especially the first few days. Pershing will be pretty much paper to that thing. This doctrine leaves USF with woeful indirect fire (only the nerfed Pak Howitzer), so the only option for killing that thing will be solid infantry micro with Rifles, Rangers, and an abundance of smoke. |
This thread is for USF FANBOY CIRCLE JERKING ONLY. If youre here to #QQ about pershing make ANOTHER thread and be NEGATIVE there.
Let us USF have our time in the sun. ![:foreveralone: :foreveralone:](/images/Smileys/foreveralone.gif)
Son, I know your emotions are running high today but I assure you, nothing I said was meant to be negative. Such is my appreciation for freedom that 95% of my COH 2 games have been as USF since they were added, and I am a filthy team game playing casual, where USF struggles the most (until I have 5 or more Jacksons).
My post was merely reflecting on the glory of this commander with the respect and humbled awe she deserves. |
I'm for Pershing Company. The Rangers are amazing too but why beat around the bush? |
The Rifle mines just make it such a ridiculous commander. I hate not really having mines whenever I use anything but Infantry Company and now I can get mines and Rangers AND a Pershing AND a smoke screen for attacks / retreats with one doctrine. Lol.
USF's non-doctrinal early and mid-game is still obviously strong but the faction always faltered as things went late. Although better now, Rifles still don't scale as well into the late game as other infantry and of course all USF tanks require incredible micro to use correctly and keep alive, with one mistake or pathing issue usually meaning death against a competent opponent.
Pershing Company allows USF to play through early and mid as usual (but stronger with mines and field defenses) and then excel in the late game with elite infantry and a heavy tank.

Pershing
Ya "heavy" information really doesn't make sense in any other context. |
