Yea, I find it really funny that as SU or USF I need to think which doctrine I need and the choice is crucial, while as OKW I foten forget about doctrines since I don't need that much but I realize I did not pick any it's more like "I don't need this, I don't need this, I don't need this" opoosite to OST and Allies "I need this"
This is what gets me about OPKW. The faction has everything under the sun. Their lineup is just filthy and they are potent at all stages of the game.
Early game? By far the most powerful starting unit. Followed by cheap, numerous infantry that gets free flame nades to force superior enemy infantry out of cover in any engagement. And of course, Shreks w/ no side tech required. Only faction w/ a T0 super light vehicle that costs no fuel and can capture territory and cutoffs. T0 AT Gun as well for some reason.
Then you have the Luchs and/or Flak Halftrack. Good light vehicles. Stuart or T-70 or AEC countering your Luchs? OKW has non-doc Puma.
LeiG and Walking Stuka very powerful indirect. Stuka only rivaled by Panzerwerfer.
Best non-doctrinal infantry? Obers.
Best non-doctrinal medium? OKW Panzer IV.
Best non-doctrinal TD? OKW Panther (and they they get the comically redundant Jagdpanzer).
Best heavy tank w/ the potential to turn a game around besides Ace? OKW King Tiger.
So instead of giving them reasonable call ins like idk, Obers, a regular Panther or a King Tiger, they already have them so they get souped up Command Panthers and utterly unnecessary JagdTigers or SturmTigers or Falls that can jump out of a building anywhere in the map.
The only thing OKW lacks is a good MG. That's it. But I'd be happy to trade the .50 cal if USF got a non-doctrinal Pershing or Calliope.
Edit: rant over and on topic, I agree the T-34/76 is useless.
