You know exactly where your enemy is, and your sniper is never going to get counter sniped I don't disagree that on paper it's very useful but you very rarely see OKW buy the IR Halftrack let alone the Valentine. I can only speculate why it's rarely used when it looks like it would be OP. I'm guessing that most players don't have the micro attention to be watching the IR scans while managing everything else. Thread: Commander Rework approach11 Jul 2018, 13:28 PM The problems with the Forward Observation post are many but primarily in my opinion is that it is a high CP ability that requires an ambient building AND the offmaps are limited in range to the building itself. How many times are you A) On a Map with a suitable building B) That building survives into the late game or even have enough starting health to be sturdy enough to justify upgrading into FOP. C) That building is located in a safeish place you can actually use abilities on the frontline. Not to mention you have the munitions to use them all. I feel like the FOP needs to be unlocked at a low CP but the individual offmaps are unlocked by tech or CP - that way you can use smoke at a low CP but the arty strikes are available later. Either that or the FOP needs to be an upgrade to the Forward Assembly so you can use it in more situations. Expanding the range of the off maps might also help. In: Lobby

I wouldn't change anything performance-wise to avoid accidentally creating a T70 clone. Just keep it simple and reduce the cost and popcap. Well I think the design intention was to have a light tank that could support Sexton with it's abilities but it's so bad as a light tank that paying 70 fuel (80?) for a glorified IR Halftrack is pointless. AEC is much better AT so I think it'd be better as a Greyhound-type analog though probably not as good as Greyhound due to it's added Arty abilities. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Second Commander Rework10 Jul 2018, 16:36 PM Pretty obvious choices for some factions - UKF is Artillery and Tactical - OKW is Elite Armor and Overwatch - USF more debatable but Tactical and Armor probably, though reworking Airborne support weapon drops would be nice. IMO OST and SOV would be aimed at either A) Reducing redundant commanders who overlap too much with more "Premium" Commanders like how Anti-Infantry Tactics is basically an inferior Shock Rifle. or B) Buffing the commanders with strong unique flavor like Partisans to open up more commander-specific play styles. That and picking commanders that open up the patch scope to buff units/abilities that need buffs or fixed like Shock Troops, Tactical Support P47 stafe, Advanced Warfare Strafe, etc In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Valentine tank popcap10 Jul 2018, 13:42 PM Problem is that it's combat ability sucks - it's main gun damage means it's can't fight vehicles reliably and it's AI is nowhere close to T70 despite costing similarly. All you're left with is the artillery synergy with Sexton which is referred to as the Suxton for a reason... Of course if you buff it's AI too much then you're probably going to get some kind of Mobile Defense meta problem where every other Brit player crutches on Valentine call-in. In: COH2 Balance

They are hands down the best medium tank in the game. Eh, debatable. It's the best brawler-flanker medium in the game if you need to shut down your opponent's medium armor and threaten dives against heavy armor but it's AI is pretty garbage. You definitely need to have supporting AI to make it fully worthwhile. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Brit tank scatter7 Jul 2018, 02:58 AM I agree, both Cromwell and Comet have been nerfed to below average after being OP for so long. Comet definitely needs either a price reduction or scatter buff IMO- it's just not worth the price when you consider Hammer Cost. Cromwell fares slightly better after the recent price reduction and can do decently well if you maximize it's speed in tank battles (here Hammer is worthwhile for War Speed) but it's a total RNG cannon for infantry when you compare it to Sherman HE or OKW P4. I think even buffing it's hull MG is worth considering to make it a bit more consistent like T34. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" Sherman versus M4A3 (76) Sherman7 Jul 2018, 01:12 AM Yeah, the 76MM mechanized Sherman is way overpriced. It only has 10 more penetration compared to stock Sherman AT Rounds and you can't use HE shells. Meanwhile EZ8 has much better stats for trading blows with Axis mediums for only 5 fuel more. That being said the 76MM has a godly rate of fire at Vet 3 w/ Radio net but it's not worth it. In: COH2 Gameplay

I can tell you already that the OKW commanders are going to be Overwatch and Elite Armor and UKF will be Artillery and Tactical Support (unless Relic is feeling saucy and wants to unlame Sim City Commander). Honestly new commander is entirely unexpected but they will all probably end up being pretty meta and/or OP initially if the past repeats itself. Be nice if there was a contest where if your commander idea/theme gets chosen you get all 5 new ones for free In: Lobby
