Do you mean to say that BARs and 1919s increase the suppression effects of Volley Fire? Is it affected by squad accuracy, which would mean that Vet 1 REs might be worth using it with? I'll occasionally mess around with Volley Fire if I think it can turn around an engagement by slowing down a charging Strumpio or what have you but I'm almost always underwhelmed by it (because it blows), mostly because of the extra 20% extra received accuracy while its active (if I recall correctly). Anyway, if thats true a few BAR REs offers up some interesting Volley Fire options for supporting Rifles like they are meant too. In: US Forces Strategies
Thread: Weapons Teams & Reinforcement Costs21 Aug 2015, 13:10 PM Jump back to quoted post21 Aug 2015, 11:34 AMdpfarce [on topic] I don't think this is a terrible problem, because of the 25% received accuracy modifier for weapons teams. 25% received accuracy is roughly equivalent to the same as 75% health (it's not quite, because a weapon does 0 or max dmg which can cause "overkill" in models) which is 3/4 health, so they die 33% more quickly (4/3). 4/3 of 15 happens to be 20 which, by the way, is exactly the same as what the original formlau said the maxim reinforce cost should be. Eh it depends on the degree of the spam, which can be pretty brutal against OKW. Last night I had a game where someeone had 3-4 maxims all in the same vicinity and the end result is that even spread out I was having multiple squads suppressed before they could get many shots off. I end up burning through all of my munitions throwing the worthless OKW grenades that at most would take 3-4 models before I was pinned. The MP bleed simply didn't hurt that playstyle enough compared to the Muni sink I was forced to endure that resulted in no shreks to deal with T-70s and the like. And God forbid the maxim is in a strong stone building -.- In: COH2 Balance

Idea is to walk REs ahead of Rifles so that squads auto-target them so you force the other player to micro target the "bigger" threat. Works well if they are busy or otherwise aren't noticing what squad is being fired at. In: US Forces Strategies
Thread: Fallschirmjäger ?20 Aug 2015, 20:09 PM Fallshirms are good good at what they do: being a unit that does good damage at all ranges and can be used tactically since they spawn from ambient buildings. They do suffer from several drawbacks 1. As said above; Expensive and Expensive to reenforce, you can't spam them or they'll bleed your MP. 2. They can be kind of squishy until they get Veterancy and generally should be kept in cover. 3. They tend to suffer from bad squad bunching and are prone to random wipes from grenades, mortars, and tank shots. That being said, they are scary good with veterancy and melt infantry at higher levels. The commander they are in is one of the more popular ones currently for OKW (far as I can tell from casts) In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Snipers20 Aug 2015, 18:09 PM Eh 2+ Sniper players have a certain cheese element to them where you have to retreat squads all the time since 2 salvos result in a wipe. But they also sacrifice field presence early, cost a lost to reenforce, and if you lose them it sets you back a lot. It's up to the Axis player to exploit that which can be harder on some maps but doable. In: COH2 Balance

My blood pressure spikes just thinking about how many Kubels I've lost because the driver decided that a 9 point turn + a 360 was needed to retreat. Its either that or it locks down your cutoff early and you spend the first few minutes Oorahing around trying to chase the damn thing away. Swear there is no middle ground. Part of me wants to see the Alpha changes just so I don't have to deal with Kubel BS anymore lol On topic, I suggest your play more games as OKW. After a game or two when you lose a vehicle early or get an unlucky truck loss and you'll quickly see how much on the back foot it places you. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: USF ambulance ability always on in HQ suggestion.20 Aug 2015, 15:42 PM +1 Whole reason its not active constantly is to prevent players from just rolling around an AOE heal everywhere. If you limit it to base that's not an issue. Hull down would be cool too if it worked like the Opel Blitz trucks so there was some risk to doing that in the field due to the pack up time if a tank rolls up. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Why do you use tier 1 as soviets19 Aug 2015, 18:02 PM Some players also like to use T1 against OKW since they don't have doctrinal vehicle snares so you can flamer clowncar more aggressively. Snipers are pretty brutal against Falshimjaeger happy players too since they are 4 model units that are expensive to reenforce. General consensus is penals are kinda meh, but on a very urban map I can see the benefits of more flamethrowers vs. garrisoned units. Back when Flak AA Traks were used more often I enjoyed using satchel charges to 1 shot them before they could pack up In: COH2 Gameplay

Rips to shreds USF, SU and will probably rip UKF. To a degree, I feel like on some maps they don't have quite that luster if there is lots of open ground for them to get shot down on approach.
