They are also handy in team games for spotting for teammates artillery strikes. I just wish they were cheaper. Balance-wise I think OP's idea is solid enough but I don't think Relic would ever do it just to save face with their stated ideology about bought veteracy (even if Tiger Ace still exists ) I still like Rifle Company, Easy 8s and White Phosphorus are still as useful as ever. Not like its NKVD level bad where it obviously needs a buff. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Pak 43 vs 17 Pounder Population costs.23 Dec 2015, 00:55 AM +1 to Whitesky Doesn't take you long playing as UKF to experience the joy of watching your Engineers slowly die to LeIG fire as they futilely try to repair an Emplacement after Brace wears off. It's true that Emplacements can take a bit more punishment but they are still fairly easy to counter and it in no way justifies the huge disparity in PopCap upkeep (especially when you take into account the cost difference). Thread: Pak 43 vs 17 Pounder Population costs.22 Dec 2015, 17:53 PM I agree with OP, popcap on 17 Pounder really cripples it and its cost really is prohibitive for spamming it so lowering its popcap by a bit won't result in Sim City 2.0. 10 Population does seem a little low for Pak43 given that it can also shoot through buildings I think 12~ is fair enough for it when you take into account how easy it is to decrew. I think tank traps and AI mines should be combined into one ability that comes at 0CP, then they could add something else, maybe Incendiary Artillery - that would fit pretty well. The DshK should come at 1CP and its ability needs a slight buff. The M-42 needs higher penetration, and it could also come at 1CP. Then you'd have a fairly decent commander that could work well with a T1 build. Booby Trap Territory would be great add to the doctrine thematically. 1 CP is kind of early for the M-42 as you need to allow some window of usability for Axis light vehicles before a hard counter is available. DSHK maybe... you can argue that MG34 comes at 1 CP (although it's not nearly as good damage wise so DSHK might be better at 2 CP as well). The AP Rounds could use a slight buff I agree since they are a joke compared to Incendiary Rounds while also being more expensive if I'm not mistaken. In: COH2 Gameplay

I think a lot of the problems Allies have currently is that its way too easy for 2-3 Volks to just YOLO into a HMG arc toss an incendiary grenade and force a retreat 9 times out of 10. Thread: Churchill armor19 Dec 2015, 20:31 PM It was nerfed because before it Churchill was too cheap for its insane armor and HP but now that they nerfed its cost too... meh feels overpriced. I think they should either give it back some of its Armor/HP or reduce its cost slightly. Feels rather like its under performing for its cost now. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: .50 cal19 Dec 2015, 02:26 AM +1 on fifth Crew men and slightly buffing penetration or adding armor piecing rounds light DSHK (especially in light of the Kubel's armor buff, plus you know it IS a .50 cal after all). With those it would def. be my favorite HMG. I think the penetration buff is deserved since it gives the LT more of a soft light vehicle counter and opens up more options. Damage and suppression on it are good when you take into account it's short set-up time which allows you to quickly reposition if needed and fully utilize USF mobility. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: Sherman Firefly19 Dec 2015, 02:19 AM I think the the Comet has a lot to do with why you don't see Firefly a lot: 30 more fuel and you get an all-rounder tank thats much more mobile... it's not a hard choice to make when Brits have a great AT gun to provide back up. That, and in my experience the Firefly is a hard unit to use by itself and needs a lot of support due to the reload time. There aren't a lot of times where the pros of a Firefly outweigh the cons vs. getting a Comet or even a Cromwell + 6 Pounder. I mostly like using Fireflies if I go Anvil and get a Churchill (though TBH I haven't played Brits since the unneeded Churchill cost nerf) I'm a fan of the of "nerf tulip buff reload" movement - I don't want a Jackson clone but a slightly faster reload would make Firefly much more usable IMO.
