#Removebritswithnewpatch Ha. Ha. Ha. I'm rolling on the floor laughing. Please stop, you comical genius. |
To reinforce the cromwell's role as a raider, I believe the cromwell should receive a reload buff in exchange for a minor penetration nerf.
I'm afraid I can't agree on this suggestion since the Cromwell already has an amazing rate of fire when it fully vets. Might get OP. |
I'm afraid the OP is mistaken. While it was indeed announced that the Katyusha was being nerfed, the revised changelog that appeared just before the patch went live stated that the change was reverted.

I dislike callin strafes in general because of how powerful they are and how little skill they require.
No offense but I guess the fact the player had the skill to hold out for the munitions needed to activate the ability counts for nothing? Something like that shouldn't fall into the same category as units. Expensive abilities like this need to be powerful. That being said, I find the Soviet IL-2s scarier than the American P47 and their drunken aim with Rockets. They really are a joke for the cost. |
I miss the days when Heavy Tanks actually did more damage than Medium Tanks. Heavies like the Tiger and IS2 feel like a novelty now. :/ |
Sigh... Seeing as to how the British Infantry were known to be accurate shooters in WW2, it really is a shame to see them this way. Paying 90 Munitions for 2 Brens that perform the same as 2 DP28s for 75 Munitions.
I'm not against a damage nerf but the Bren has officially lost it's character as a highly accurate LMG... While I do appreciate the work you guys do, Mr.Smith, this change is disappointing. Is there really no way to make them do short, accurate bursts that do the same DPS you are trying to achieve?
It may seem trivial to quibble about such things but as someone who likes reading and learning about WW2, authenticity is important too. |
I would have went into more detail if I wasn't rushing out of the door to go to work. Haha.
Unlike the Soviets, they can't "Oohra!" to safety.
Unlike the USF, they can't lay down smoke grenades quickly.
Having good garrison cover to hide at least bought them more time to respond with either Mortars (While Pyro Tommies gave the line of sight from a Trench), Vehicles or Counter Snipe. Without being forced to give up territory too quickly.
That being said, I really think it would have been better to bring the British Sniper's Garrison Accuracy down to Eastern Front levels rather than the other way round. |
Ignoring ‘fairness’ do brits actually have a major balance issue with the OST sniper?
They will after the 100% accuracy vs Garrisons go through. |
I for one strongly oppose the sniper changes myself. The 100% accuracy vs Garrisons is a massive mistake. Seriously, that's not how it works in real life. If you are dealing with a Sniper, the first thing you should try to do as an Infantryman is GET THE HELL OUT OF THE OPEN! With this change, there's just no safe-ish place for your infantry now. I can't think of a single thread where someone was advocating this change.
Not very keen on the one man Sniper for Soviets now. Other than the flare which 82mm Mortars already have, there's nothing to make the Soviet Sniper special from an actual gameplay point of view. No, possibly getting a female Sniper with an attractive accent doesn't make up for it. After making such a huge change, it needs something of equal value in return. What though, is the question... |
While accuracy may seem safer to mess around with, it still has a ton of variables. Lowering the amount of shots per burst might make damage more predictable in my opinion.
I'm still not convinced with decreasing accuracy being the only option. Not to mention there's two separate LMGs that the British have that just aren't different enough from each other. Burst fire could be key to finally making each of them unique.
Bren = Highly Accurate but Short Bursts
Vicker's K = Longer Bursts but Lower Accuracy
Bren could be a good Anti-Infantry upgrade that improves a Section overall that' quite good at hitting their targets at all ranges but only fire very short bursts. A good offensive LMG. Maybe we could even make it almost like a 3-shot-burst version of the G43 with less punch per shot of course. The possibilities are exciting to think about!
Vickers K could fire long, inaccurate bursts that can't hit much at range but be good at twarting close-range assaults from the enemy. In other words, a good defensive LMG.
I wish there was a chance to play around with it before the patch comes out and tweak it until it works well for everyone.
EDIT: Nonetheless... Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. I would be more than happy with the Bren's current accuracy remaining and long range Burst Fire being halved. |
