I also thought about the idea of fragmentation shells for the M42. This would increase its usefulness and would make it overall a good infantry support against other infantry (which was a real use). The smoke rounds would be great too.
I think there are two ways of adding this. The easy mode implementation would be to give the M42 the properties of the T70 main gun and increase its cost to 400 MP or something like this. The hard mode implementation would be to add a button (like the Sherman) to switch between rounds, which would be nice, but the cost shouldn't be as high because it would require some micro (300 MP, maybe). |
I think that the 222 should also have better penetration, to be a threat to the frontal armor of the allied light vehicles, and the price should be increased to 45-55 fuel. |
An incredibly long attrition battle with a lot of wipes, burning wrecks and a vet 5, 60 kills, hero panzer IV. Tommies, tank hunters, vickers, 6 pounders, cromwells, crocodiles and a Centaur vs. volksgrenadiers, sturmpioners, raketens, MG 34s, isgs, a Puma, a Stuka, an Ostwind and a Panzer IV. |
A funny match with a lot of exchange of weaponry. Volks, raketens, MG 43s, isgs, a panther, a luchs and a sturmtiger vs. riflemans, mortars, .50 cals, jacksons, shermans, scotts... |
A 41 minute match with assault grenadiers, panzergrenadiers, snipers, a couple of 222s, a Panzer IV, a stug III ausf. E, and a Tiger vs. conscripts, sniper teams, anti-tank partisans, T-70s, SU-76s, SU-85s and a lot of demolition charges and mines.
Snipers crushed, a lot of soviet armor burning, demo charges blowing squads... a lot of action inside |
Thanks for the tips, KyleAkira. Next time I'll try to entrench with bunkers on the fuels as you say. And yes, the sniper loss was a huge mistake. The last attack on the base was just to try to lure the Cromwell to my PaKs and Tellers but it backfired me. |
A 41 minutes match with bofors, a command Universal Carrier, mortar emplacements, sappers, tommys, Boys ATR snipers, cromwells and a lot of mines vs. grenadiers, snipers, 222s, teller mines, 250 mortar half-tracks, a Panzer IV, an Ostwind, a Stug III and a Tiger.
Any tips on how to counter the center would be appreciated, I was trying to get a panzerwerfer to keep the QF-6 Pounders away but at the end I didn't had the resources... |
I think you mean speed. velocity include both speed and direction.
and it's not the speed that's the problem, it's the rotational rate. 95% of infantry crushing is really the m10, t34 and cromwell rotating into infantry. Nerf the rotational speed if you want to nerf the crush.
I didn't know it was just the rotational speed that allowed the crush, but yes, if this is what allows the crush that's what should be nerfed. |
I sincerely prefer the MG 42 but if it has to be removed...
Luftwaffe Ground Forces: probably the best option is the Ostwind, though a 251 would also be nice (I suppose luftwaffe used half-tracks to carry material/personnel).
Fortifications Doctrine: I would like to see a Hetzer tank destroyer, we already have the flammpanzer 38(t) model so it shouldn't be extremely difficult to add the Hetzer. But flares, advanced salvage, early warning, Goliath or even a 251 would also be a good addition. |
Overall good changes. But:
- I think that they should just nerf the M10 and Cromwell rotation speed, which are the only armoured vehicles that can really crush a lot of infantry.
- The MG 42 was a nice addition to both doctrines, hope they replace it with useful and suitable new abilites/units...
