^ The rationale, as per patch notes, is to stop them being spammed and encourage combined arms. My only minor quibble is that PzGrens seem too squishy to justify the step-up, especially now that a supported Pak feels better than before.
Minor stuff, I like the changes so far. A welcome evolution of the March deployment, obviously still some tweaking required. If the next patch builds on this we're heading in the right direction.
Fingers crossed the Western Armies doesn't completely bring the roof down on it all. |
New German commander is very situational, you can miss a tier in the right circumstances perhaps (for me prolly T3) relying on Puma and PzGrens for AT depending on map control and fuel. The command tank is golden with a heavy T1/ T2 build IMO.
The new Sov commander appears to be better but, again, situational. Which is as it should be. I'm looking forward to see what the top players do with these commanders.

I was underwhelmed by the Ostruppen = my 500mp bought me two squads, no extra weapons, 1 x Vet 0 1 x Vet 2.
I'd rather have had two vanilla Grens, tbh. I understand it's a roll of the dice, but not one I'll be making lightly. |
Just tried the Puma... solid at infantry harassment / kiting and with half-decent Anti Armour. I predict Puma spam... they are very cheap. |
I want to have a german commander that can build T-34 and IS-2!
Over-entitled dick. |
Personally, and I play both factions, this is a nudge in the right direction.
If I was being really heretical, I'd suggest Panther as a doctrinal call-in tank and restructure Soviet T4 completely, but that's just me. I'd also make the Flakpanzer a call-in and replace it with a PzIII. |
I hope they do something about OP conscripts and armour-heavy M3s. Sheesh, those combat engineers DPS is twinky too, please Relic give Axis a break. Oh, and can we have a Vet 0 blitz ability for Panther please? |
It doesn't change the fact that 1 v 1 players are a minority. An over-indulged, increasingly spoilt and disproportionately influential minority.
This forum is increasingly hostile to anyone who isn't a member of the 1v1 master race. Our opinions are routinely derided (yeah, 3 v 3 is broken, who cares?) and our preferences belittled (that's casual, man).
So a question, mainly aimed at site admins - do you want CoH2.org to be more inclusive or as another forum member said yesterday "go find another forum?"
The idea that only the 1 v 1 obsessed can enjoy this game and participate meaningfully in this community is risible. |
^ Man, you should have drunk your own piss.
MVGame. |
I routinely play games where all Panthers appear with Vet 1, and early Vet 3 support weapons teams are common too. Vet 1 is crucial for the over-drive ability.
Spamming XP / Vet is obviously wasteful, but lots of players exploit it in subtle ways. A properly protected and micro'd Vet 3 MG42 is a game changer. |
