We're talking about the *marketing* agree with Ami. The lame comments a la Von Ivan (do you do anything else?) are dull and fuck up otherwise good threads so I agree with Omega. It only takes one fuckwitted post to derail the whole thing.
Ami - constructive criticism from a supporter - mods need to mod on this forum, not just be old hands with nice avatars.
- Faction vision statements
- 2 maps only: Hurtgen forest / Trois Pont
- Risk / rewards – paratroopers / Sturmtiger reloading
- Units
o M20
o Paratroopers
o Riflemen
o Infrared Halftracks
o Sherman
o Sturmtiger
o King tiger
The fact the Germans have Sturm and King Tigers kinda speaks for itself...
Combining two of those issues - it's possible to knock out and capture a Sturmtiger while it's reloading, a process which is pretty tricky for the crew (which it should be seeing as it's Hiroshima on caterpillar tracks). I've dropped paras right on top of a Sturm in a quiet corner of a map and captured it while the crew were trying to manhandle a fresh rocket into it...
The OKW 'army essence' stuff is more or less this:
It's near the end of the war and resources are harsh. Your high command has tried to mitigate manpower retardation with hi-tech wonder weapons. You need to fight, hold ground, scavenge and hold out using your technology to your advantage when it finally arrives. But be careful, because everything is scarce.
Vanilla Sherman is a typical mid-game T34 analogue with the option of either AT or AP speciality. It isn't very impressive against heavier armour but it does have cool features and you can evacuate the crew and keep their veterancy.
In my opinion the PzGrens are a typical victim of see-saw balancing y Relic. OP then nerf.
I appreciate this is easy for me to say, as I'm not an expert or anything. *But* the Ostheer *deserve* a decent close-combat infantry unit on a par with (but different from) Shocks.
As it is, they're too squishy and I can't accept this "use them at flanking or at range" answer. Grens are for range with MG42s. Pios aren't infantry (although they had that hilarious day in the sun as close combat troops). What is the answer for Ost close combat infantry? There isn't one.
I play both factions. I like them equally. Please check my scorecard (don't laugh too much at rankings) but it seems to me that the omission of a decent CC unit for Ost is simply obtuse.
