- Indirect fire support (Lack of movable mortar and good SPG (no, sexton sucks and concentration barrage from HQ is just stupidly inaccurate)
Hm, when I think about it, just messing around with that some could fix up this noticeable strategic flaw.
While getting to work with nerfs in other places of the faction, natch... |
Make air superiority zone permanent for the rest of the match. Reduce munition cost to 10. I like the cut of your jib |
-20% received accuracy on vet3 for every allied unit. Even for ones which already have it.
You're thinking too small, like a fascist that thinks only of his country's glory.
-20% on each level of vet, now we're talking. |
O_O
Apparently its potential is about a billion times worse than I thought. |
But was it always applied this way instead of how it's applied through veterancy?
Used to be infantry just had a target size of one and could have had a innate received accuracy modifier even without vet. They removed innate received accuracy modifiers and instead changed the infantry that had a received accuracy modifiers to have a different target size. |
They are .040 percent harder hit? My god, why haven't I abused my triple ostruppen harder to hit bulletins!
I heard the effective health of Osttruppen goes up a ton from vetting considering their six men, might be even more effective than you expected! |
I'm not saying that it never suppresses (which it does equal to allied type MG's) I'm talking about pinning, which it never does at all.
It takes roughly half a second more to suppress than an HMG42 - as pinning certainly takes longer to have happen than suppressing and troops can manage to crawl into some cover to further slow it down while the Vickers is otherwise totally alike to an HMG42, its ability to pin is certainly compounded to be noticeably worse than an HMG42 (and I recall pinning makes troops easier to hit, so that might also be a consideration to comparing the two's DPS [heh, remember when pinning was just something that happened to people who forgot about the retreat button?]).
>35 is also where you have to start worrying about grenades, especially the rifle grenade which reach 30.
Indeed, the "advantage" is not without clear risks to make it more of a distinction than a clear advantage.
At least it's got "Best range ever while in buildings", eh? |
vicker have similar dps as the mg42.
The only possibility that the vicker kill faster is because that enemies are not being suppressed and therefore not receiving the defensive bonus.
stop twisting the vicker's lack of suppression into an advantages. If there's 4x grenadier barrelling toward me I want them suppressed asap. a machine gun that can't suppress is a crappy machine gun at all. If I want dps I will just get another tommy or sniper.
Vickers' is better at range >35, which is variably an advantage rather than a straight up good point (Suppressing enemies within that range is hardly impossible, but neither is it necessarily preferable to just suppressing enemies past that range which the HMG42 certainly does faster). |
As an interesting aside, the two scoped Lee Enfields also count towards weapon slot limit or something, but they cannot be dropped themselves, so they cause Vet3 tommies to start dropping other weapons sooner than otherwise. I had a 5-man vet3 tommy squad drop Brens when down to 3 men, and I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the scoped Lee-Enfields also have a stats downside somehow, like they are not affected by some modifier or another (cover, garrison, command aura, not sure tbh) but I don't remember the details. Does this ring a bell for anyone or am I becoming senile?
I couldn't tell ya, I just learned today they're actually different weapons in practice and not just a fancy skin. |
Togglable auras for different commands
Hunker down RA buff, focus fire accuracy buff, group sprint, etc.
Tie aura effectiveness to officer vet, make riflemen vet only effect moving accuracy, sight range, abilities, and at vet 3, 3 rack weapons option.
Buff Bar so it's not crap, slightly buff zook damage. Increase cost of racks to 25 fuel
Eh, I think BARs'll be just fine after Rifle vet 3 is made balanced (which is to imply not straight up remove it, just nerf it some more).
But damn if that kinda concept doesn't sound potent to me. Give those toggled auras meaningful cooldowns and ranges, could be what the CoH1 Brit officers shoulda been. Probably would be tough to get just right, granted...auras are toughies, mang. |
