I can't believe you still go to these numbers from tests in vacuum when you compare units. 230 armor vs 140 might have something to do with it. Time to kill doesn't mean anything whatsoever, given that you have to pretend nothing else wants to shoot at the TD while it just chips away at a heavy. Jp4 can actually ping mediums/infantry AT trying to rush it which you know, might actually happen if your targeting a heavy tank with a Tank Destroyer. And the SU85 costs 130 fuel not 120. Thread: Sturmtiger post-nerf14 Feb 2018, 17:10 PM The ST can delete most vetted allied squads from beyond their sight range. That is a fact, and its all that's relevant to this discussion. The suggestion that MOST units get a sight range buff is just wrong, most of them cannot spot the ST without already being in range. But beyond that I want to hear a genuine explanation of why we need these click-to-wipe units in the game. Blob busting is fun, but as I said they are more often used to wipe single unsuspecting squads. It could do that with ease up until 2 months ago. In live version it still can fire from beyond most infantry los. In: COH2 Balance

Infantry sections and volks are the only mainlines who get a sight buff, and they have to be in cover/buildings for it to take effect. Then after that its pretty much only scout infantry that get em, like pathfinders and jaeger lites and snipers. None of which are any threat to vehicles at all aside from acting as spotters. Riflemen, conscripts, grens, pgrens, shocks, guards, paratroopers, US officers, obers, falls all get zero sight range buffs with vet. Care to explain how its most of the infantry? What do you mean maybe? It definitely outranges most infantry sight, when you claimed it was significantly lower. That was a major part of your argument, because no amount of micro will save your unit if the rocket is fired from beyond your los. The last patched nerfed reworked a lot of units and abilities that involved cheesy wiping potential. Demo charges, Avre, SturmTiger, Gammons, Stuka dive bomb all changed. I hate blobs as much as anyone, but these things can be just as effective at erasing single full health vet 3 squads and its undesireable for everyone for single mouse clicks to delete units you've been spending the whole game trying to keep alive. First of all its range was nerfed 2 months ago and that was from 45 to 40. Glancing at the changelog could've told you that. Then there's the fact that most infantry in the game have a sight range of 35. Edit: Just saw someone else corrected you too. All you need to do is look at relic's changelog Things like pathfinders can spot it from beyond its range. They have 50 sight range, but that's one of their essential purposes. If your ST got spotted from beyond normal infantry los than something else revealed it. In: COH2 Balance

It could fire on most infantry/tanks from beyond their sight range AND through LOS blockers. That is the definition of the element of surprise, as it leaves you with only the travel time of the rocket to micro away. It was far from considered useless in anything above 1v1. It was a very popular unit in team games due to the clustering of units, and was crazy OP. Worth pointing out that its old cost of 160 fuel was the same exact price as when OKW had 2/3 fuel income. Thread: Former Relic studio head joins Sega & CoH312 Feb 2018, 19:48 PM Hell they had the Supreme Commander series on console. Way was better on PC but its not impossible. That said supcom 2 was heavily dumbed down from the first one so I hope something similar doesn't happen here in an effort to make it more console friendly. In: Lobby

Paks are a bad investment for 320mp, but you'll spend 340mp and 120 munitions on a pgren squad that is also 4-men? I think that is the problem here. The pgrens shreck squad needs to be a lot closer to the tank to fire than a AT gun does, so you can't expect them to properly keep off tanks. Furthermore the Pak40 is still the best AT gun in the game. Also you are probably alone in saying "P4s are better than Stugs". If you can only get 1, then the P4 is much better; but Stugs are much cheaper and therefore easier to get more than 1 of. In numbers, Stugs are very very effective. Thread: Current squad AI is bad.28 Jan 2018, 20:14 PM I've seen movement reminiscent of the old dancing that guards, shocks, us officers, etc. used to do but on conscripts (haven't seen it on those other squads). It's definitely not just "issuing proper commands" @Mr. Smith. you'll tell them to take cover, and then sometimes they'll rearrange themselves spontaneously after already taking cover. In: Lobby
