Well, maybe because a pak one shots a bren, making it completely useless to build one
Yeah, except it doesn't. |
Dunno if Churchill is balanced or not. On the one hand, it doesn't do a lot of damage. On the other, it's virtually impossible to kill. |
Only if the Panzerfaust then requires Battle Phase 1. Honestly, I'd rather just see light armor arrive later in the game. |
Vs. Brits, I recently screwed around with -
3x Sturmpioneers (yes really)
2x Volks
Mech Truck
Flak Halftrack
Med Truck
2x LeIG
Jagdpanzer IVs
Infantry Sections don't stand up very well to Sturmpioneers in the early game and the Flak Halftrack counters a Wasp. If the enemy sticks to cover, buys a Bofors, or gets a 6lbr, you can sit back with your LeIGs all day long.
Panzershrecks can deal with a AEC car, if the Brit does that. |
Two or three StuGs can kill any Allied armour, especially if backed by a command tank. They're rather economical as well - low popcap, relatively low fuel cost. The absence of a turret isn't that big of a deal, imo, so long as your micro's up to speed.
I usually aim to have:
- Five Grenadier squads
- 2-3 StuGs
- Command Panzer IV
- Possibly an Ostwind
- LeFH-18 howitzer
If you can get this, you're probably going to win. |
This is, admittedly, a very early assessment and a bit of a rage post, but I'm going to call this thing ridiculous. It's absolutely unkillable with any sort of infantry (talking Ostheer here). You can't Panzerfaust it and it doesn't die to a single Pak shot. Meanwhile, its damage output is nuts and it can chase down retreating squads very, very easily. It's basically the clowncar with double the range.
So, in other words, you're forced to go T2 and get a Scout Car just to deal with this. That, in turn, limits your flexibility (no T3 rush) and saddles you with the crappiest light vehicle in the game. |
I dunno. Still shouldn't be penetrating. If that means nerfing the penetration on the truck's 37mm (it's a 37mm gun), so be it. Autocannons should not be penetrating tank armour. |
It needs a penetration nerf lol. 40mm should not be reliably penetrating StuG frontal armour. That's the 17lbr's job. |
How about StG upgrade to 60 munitions with the option to upgrade when not in territory? |
The Ostheer mortar is known colloquially as the "turbo mortar" because its reload is totally broken. this change makes perfect sense.
I get that it's good. It's very good - especially when compared with the other mortars. But the GrW34 also needs to be good considering how popular Maxim spam is. If Maxims had been nerfed somewhat (not calling for drastic changes here, just want to see less spam), I'd have been fine with the reload change. But they weren't. |
