So we're somewhere in the middle of Relic's five-year plan for CoH2, but will lelic's best designers and programmers work hard enough to make us say one day 'CoH2 is complete now. It is a balanced, overally great experience'? What needs to be done to replace the first game in the series on the pedestal?
Relic, if you ever come to this thread, please take in consideration these
Game experience and design
- Flags on capture points should be coloured and textured after the faction that takes them. Blue and red flags are really a step backwards compared to the original game.
- Music should be tied to faction, not to map. Fighting for the rodina when listening to British tunes is kind of immersion breaking, even more in 1v1s, where realistic match-ups show more often. Very often the only thing missing is the right music.
- Visual and sound quality fidelity. We can hardly consider CoH2 to be complete when we have 222 scout car really outscaled or Penal battalions putting flare mines in the air (this is also a reminder to buff them and the flare mine bug is a good reason to change their vet ability )
Balance
Nothing specific here. When all of the doctrines are viable and when units like Penals or M42 are truly usable again I think we could all agree the game would be truly balanced after some more tweaks.
Technical aspects
With optimization on Lelic's list, we can only wait now
Relic could consider HUD optimization, it is known that HUD is a real fps thief, but let's let them do their best. I would also like to mention things like removal of bug splat problems (just fixing the game) and things like gunshot bug (which is getting fixed right now
). Relic I trust in you
Content
And here we go: this is a controversial topic, but I believe that community would like to see new, but
balanced from the start commanders. Things like Calliope or Not One Step Back Tactics. Just fresh content.
If anyone wants to add anything, please do. Maybe Relic will open this thread some day
