They are very OP. As a German player I havnt won a single match since the new patch. Im not the best player no but I was winning 1 out of 2 games before. This has gone ridiculous though.
Grens are too weak as well as paks as we all know.
You need too much ammunition to effectively upgrade your units. by the time you have done this the soviets have tanks and have took the map so your always on the defensive.
There needs to be a serious patch for germans to make them stronger.
Don't even get me started on the six man crew I mean wtf.

Just so you know, Gren spam + Jaeger can be very, very powerful.

I agree on everything except
-German Scout Car no longer useless against infantry once main gun is upgraded
-Panzergrenadiers damage reduced slightly, armor increased slightly. Makes them not such an instant Conscript shredding machine, while improving their survival chances (and thus spending less manpower to reinforce over the long run)
-IS-2 and Tiger buffed.
-Oorah duration and munition cost doubled. Makes it less spammable but improves the value when used.
Let's start:
I think with point 1, that was what the Scout car was like in Alpha. If the 211 was effective against infantry upgunned, it would be a broken unit - it can counter all T1 and T2 of the Soviets. I find that the 211 when not upgunned is still very good against infantry. So, I agree with the trade-off between upgunning and not upgunning.
Point 2 - If PGs damage is reduced, they will lose against Shocks period. Already, they lose against shocks (which have the highest armour in the game) and this will mean that Sov Infantry >> German infantry by a long shot...
IS-2 and Tiger do not need a buff in terms of gameplay. They are very hard to kill if you use them properly. If you can name how they need a buff (IMO the fuel cost for IS-2 and Tiger is riduclous, but that's a different matter)
Point 4 - Oohrah duration doubled is even more "press and I win button" than it currently is. Muni doubling to 20 means nothing when you can almost certainly force a gren squad off during that time. |
The fast T2 strategy handles this well. Most times when I encounter a M3A1 rush in a the game is over in like ~10 minutes in my favor.
A quick tech up either way seems the answer. Tier 1 really can't handle M3A1s at all.
You can, but you will have to send the grens in from multiple directions (which is tricky because it's at the cost of a lot of grens if it's the sniper car). |
How to counter HTD
When the soviets use HTD, they probably intend to wait out with their PPSH and do that damage.
here's a little tip Don't keep your infantry close. If you have Grens, move away so that their DPS is pitiful while you MG34 them to death. And use your rifle nades as well.
If you have a PG squad there, just throw a bundle. The Cons will either instantly get forced off or die. |
Not if they have more maxims :-) If they get ~4 out they'll always be able to suppress your infantry from the front and flankers. It's not a problem if they have ONE maxim, but four?
If he blobs them up, he doesn't have any capping power. Who cares if he gets some VPs, he can't stop your P4 |

INCENDIARY ARTILLERY BARRAGE
Areas of the map can be bombarded with incendiary rounds to burn infantry and deny access.
RAPID CONSCRIPTION
Any soldiers lost while Rapid Conscription is active are replaced by Conscript Infantry.
CONSCRIPT ASSAULT PACKAGE UPGRADE
Conscripts replace two of their rifles with PPSh-41 Submachine Guns for better short-range firepower.
CONSCRIPT REPAIR KIT
Demonstrating pure ingenuity, Conscripts can repair any damaged structure, vehicle, or bridge.
HIT THE DIRT!
Conscripts gain the "Hit the Dirt!" ability; when it is active, they seek ground for protection but will not move.
Also, you can buy almost all of the commanders in the CE in a bundle for $8.99.
It kinda looks crazy (esp the rapid conscription thing... why do we have AWM for infantry in this game I don't even...) but remember that conscripts are pretty poor for AT and unlike every other doctrine, you have no infantry based AT here - which is pretty severe on this doctrine (you can even kite with the scout car and that is viable here)

I already said why I thought PG were great. They murder conscripts. Way better than grenadiers. Plus bundled grenades is pretty much the best squad killer the Germans have.
Grenadiers suffer from always requiring munitions to be effective. Going fast T2 allows you to spend manpower to kill infantry, instead of munitions.
And no, if you rush T2, it's actually awesome if the enemy rushes flamer clown car. The scout car builds insanely fast and you're guaranteed to have the munitions for it (since you don't have grens that you might have bought LMG, G43, or fausts for).
I still think Maxim spam annihilates this strat, but we'll see if it gets patched on game day.
In the event of this, use the HT to drop PGs behind the Maxim. That should kill the maxim. Then recrew and reinforce the PGs |
