This. Seconded.
Take into account that before, when only a handful of people used partisans, no axis player ever felt the need of looking behind their front line apart from the occasional paratrooper landing. But now finally the partisans pack a little more punch the "OP-OP calling" starts, and the worst thing is, a very predictable one at that. So lets take this 'new' situation axis players will find themselves in into consideration.
The "lazy" (before replying watch those quotation marks there) axis never had to deal with troops operating behind the line, having to get real close before doing some damage, otherwise quite unuseful troops before. Even in my earliest (and I have played tons of matches using partisans) use of these guys I had to ubermicro them and not use them as a combat unit to make them work. Back then they could not capture points at all, were (and still are) very fragile. Even a grenadier looking angry at them made them start dropping models. It was very hard to make them useful, only having some limited use in very specific situation only encounterable in 3v3 4v4's. Every partisan fielded behind enemy lines was a missing soviet squad on the frontline.
Their armor still sucks. they die like flies and most people tend to use them incorrectly and inefficiently. They finally do some damage, people use them properly and all axis camp starts barking and throwing in all the numbers to back up their case. While in all honesty, you should look behind the hurts of our collective butts and see that maybe these guys were very underpowered before.
Taking this into consideration I do not mind a small but noticeable nerf in their damage output. for their smg's.
And it's been less than 24 hours. I mean. Really people? Seriously?
+1 people need to let is play out a little bit before bitching and moaning. |
...allies have awful late game units?
Serious question. I just played a 2v2 versus a well-known CoH1 player and beat him, and it was mostly thanks to the AVRE.
The thing is just so damn survivable. He had 3 Paks all firing at it, and I still had time to roll up, blow one away, and reverse back into safety with most of my HP.
Sturm is a bitch to play against, but for some reason I don't see him nearly as much, and he feels more fragile.
What is the answer to AVRE? Snares (faust)?
Because it seems like no amount of coordinated AT can kill it or scare it away until after it has delivered its doomsday mortar.
I concede it could just be the fact that I've been a USF player since they were released, and the idea of having a sturdy late game unit is completely foreign to me.
Why didn't he toggle on target weak point on his AT guns? the ARVE is a well known allied spearhead that is infamous hard to kill, there also super expensive. If he had 3 AT guns with 90 munitions he could easily stun lock it to death. Bad is bad, no matter how well known. |
SO brace is ridiculous engineers can repair faster than you can kill it with 2x at gun mortar and infantry... It makes all the emplacements OP especially avre commander with the hax repairs its impossible to kill them. seriously 2x MHT continually firing at a mortar emplacement they got Vet 3 from just continually firing at it and they still couldn't kill it.
Churchill is just a joke, 1600 hp and what Armour? it bounces almost everything, same with crocoldile the anti everything tank....
Avre, lol drives up to tank bounces all shots and 1 shots your p4 or almost kills your panther.
If you let one of the slowest tanks in the game drive up, fire its gun that has a few seconds of delay, and then watch the slow projectile hit either a panther, or P4, both tanks with exceptional movement speed, YOU DESERVE TO LOSE. |
Comet is basically just a panther, surprised to hear its getting a nerf. |
I've been hearing little bits and pieces of complaining from everyone. Brit players say they have no good infantry, and very little ways to respond to MG's and snipers making the early game atrociously bad. Everyone else says there super op, their commandos do super high dps, there tanks are to tough, and the arve/croc and every other heavy tank is op.
Me personally, I think the most Op thing about the brits is by far the bofors gun. Thing wipes way to fast, but aside from that I can honestly say I don't feel their units are as over the top over powered as everyone suggests. For example everyone complains the brits commandos do way to much DPS, but the problem is they almost have to be at melee range before they do any DPS. They have clear strengths, but they also have clear weaknesses. |
As someone who's been playing an assload of games as UKF, I actually think this strategy might work. |
They removed heavy cover giving -50% explosive damage
This would explain it. Squads clump up more in cover, and if there's no modifier, there screwed.
|
I'm not sure if it's just me or not, but grenades are annihilating squads again. If I even have a squad clipped by a grenade, it usually dies, and I mean going from 90% health, 4 models, to a hole in the ground.
We've all seen this before, so long story short, it needs to be toned down. |
Ya, after having played multiple games as the brits now I can honestly say that in my experience people who are losing to bofors are bad, and would have lost even if I had never built it. Keep in mind I don't play 1v1. |
Been playing Brits lots, ostheer t3 ruins Brits. |
