Really nice game.
Good call with the Stuka and Panzerwerfer, they were the difference in what was really a very close fought game imo.
Brit/USF pairing is going to really hurt next patch against such tight Axis play. With the nerf to the croc, and no decent indirect fire from either faction (that can dislodge team weapons quickly and safely), I think PaK wall will reign supreme.

It's a gamble. It only works if you can force a mass retreat with an inferior army.
If your opponent spends the same amount of munitions on his own abilities and weapons you're especially going to be behind. (Most players float like crazy though.) He'll have brens, bars or ppsh. He'll have medium tanks, artillery and likely more map control.
I could see it being more of a problem in scrub vs scrub (4v4) but in a real game mode I just don't think it's a big deal because you're trading army value for the opportunity to nuke him in the late game if he retreats everything together.
I hardly call DevM a scrub... Post 1. I think in a 4v4 the team mates could help you get back in the game. 1v1 and 2v2? Nope, it's GG. |
You're sacrificing a lot of fuel to do that though.

It's not uncommon to be able to strafe pin infantry, recon, and Stuka DB the base. |
Just a heads up, I sent Cuddletronic a PM asking him/her to ask the balance team about this change.
Cuddletronic was kind enough to forward the concerns to the balance team, and sent this in response:
"Hi, I've heard back from the Balance Team and the Change to the Stuka Dive Bomb is the intended design."

which means it now needs to either be much more expensive (~~250mun), needs to be easier to dodge (make it take longer to land?) or the AoE needs to go back down.

Added a couple of extra weapons to the changed list:
Sturmtiger aoe distance from 2.5/5/7.5 to 2/4/6, damage far modifier from 0.3 to 0.05 (decent nerf)
Ostheer Fragmentation bombs aoe distance 3/4.5/6 to 3/6/9, mid damage from 0.15 to 0.35 (large buff)
Stuka bomb strike aoe distance from 3.75/5.625/7.5 to 3.75/7.5/11.25, mid damage from 0.15 to 0.35 (large buff)
