I had vet0 B4s blowing up two moving sqauds way in the FOW. It was on Semoiski and it´s not hard to predict the possible movement paths there. The presence of a B4 alone will make it hard for the German player to fight it out with the Soviet player. Good players will use the B4 sparingly for that psychological advantage of you waiting for it to be fired. In: COH2 Gameplay

Stuka zu fuss can do it, fragmentation bomb, sneaky falsch or jaeger, mass attack from flank... The fragmentation bomb doesn´t work if you can´t spot it. Jäger-Infanterie is in one Ostheer doctrine, which not everyone owns. Even if you have them, they can only decrew the weapon. Not efficient enough. There´s no other option but recon + Stuka for Ostheer. The medic truck was in our part of the map and is a basic building of the OKW afaik. The B4 itself is overpowered, that´s why I´m forced to block one commander slot with the Elefant doctrine. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Doctrines that hard-counter other doctrines23 Dec 2014, 12:23 PM I don´t know how to feel about this. I always have the Elefant doctrine in my Ostheer load-out. Not for the Elefant, but the recon + Stuka combination in case of a B4. If the Soviet opponent has a B4 in his load-out, I wait with choosing a doctrine until I am sure what doctrine he has taken. Tbh I feel without the Stuka + recon, the B4 would be devastatingly overpowered. How else can you reach it if it´s built in the base of your opponent. The only other option would be to suicide rush a Panzer IV/ Tiger and hope for the best. - Which isn´t a reliable option. Just yesterday a B4 annihilated my teammates medic outpost including some squads and several of my weapon crews within <10 minutes. Only the Stuka + recon saved us. I agree that that might ruin the fun for the player using the B4, but how else is that gun not going to be totally overpowered? In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Artillery: Soviet 152mm, Ostheer 105mm18 Dec 2014, 13:44 PM Hey, I haven´t seen a recent topic about artillery pieces. I barely see the 152mm and 105mms ingame. I think they are totally not worth it. I don´t have WFA so this might as well apply to the Priest, but I can´t tell. The doctrines that contain these guns block every option to get heavy armor for Soviets and Germans alike. Thus I think they should pack some punch. Since some patches ago though they don´t do that. I think this is because they fire quite slowly so only the first shot catches the enemy off guard. However the first shot almost never ever hits the target. Thus the biggest notable effect artillery pieces have, is area denial. Tbh it´s hardly worth going for some area denial instead of a Tiger or T-34/85. I really want to use those guns, but atm they are hardly a good choice. Opinions? Solutions? In: COH2 Balance

Thus especially open topped vehicles (where you could see the soldiers) like the Marder III, Hellcat and Halftracks were out of proportion too. I assume this is the same case in CoH2. Might be for the players to properly recognize their units. Rumor has it that easy unit recognition was also the reason why CoH1 Grens wore pajamas. In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: StuG III Ausf. G Assault Gun, do you use it?7 Dec 2014, 12:35 PM I voted "No, never". Reasons: 1) For only 45 fuel more you get a Panzer IV with up to three MGs and a turret. Also the Panzer IV has the Blitz ability. 2) StuGs go down with three shots from AT guns, two shots from a Jackson. They are way too fragile. It often happened that I get the message "tank lost" before I even know my StuG was attacked. 3) StuGs miss way too many shots. Or to be more specific, their shots seem to hit the ground everytime there is a slight height difference. That or they will hit a fence, car wreck or other obstacle. 4) StuGs are TOTALLY negated by SU-85s and Jacksons. Target weakpoint can work, but on an equal skill level the odds of coming out on top with a StuG are poor. Also they can´t fight AT guns. A Panzer IV however can circle the SU-85 and AT-guns. So, no... StuGs are not a choice for competitive matches. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: M36- badly underpowered?5 Dec 2014, 11:41 AM 240 damage, 60 range, good mobility. If the penetration goes up, another stat has to go down. If not, that would be too much offensive capabilities. I would like to see the damage come down to 160 in exchange for more penetration. Less Rng, but instead a more constant damage output. Right now two Jacksons can negate any German armor on the battlefield. You just need to use them right. In: COH2 Balance
