that doesnt mean 4 million will all be playing at once.
if the steam charts says theres 5k people online- it doesnt mean theres been the same 5k people online all day. people sign off and on throughout the day. |
im sure itd never happen in coh2. but in the next game- they ought to use T G B in the normal grid for extra commands, and make the upgrade hotkeys be Y H N . Theres just so many more actions that a lot of squads could really use to help them act in the way you want them to.
Anything that involves a team weapon (bazooka, flamethrower, MG, etc) needs to have a hold fire option.
All units need to have a priotize vehicle option (maybe ctrl+hold fire = priotize vehicles?)
All turreted tanks need to have a "face turret" command.
All units need the ability to target a squad without moving (eg hold fire until the target gets in range, then attack it while maintaining position) |
The basic USF opener is as follows:
Rifle-Rifle-Rifle-Tech
*"Tech" being a grenade, ambulance, or LT+m20 - depending on what your opponent is doing.
be sure to build these first 4 units as soon as you can, keep your eye on your manpower and build the moment you can. as USF you shine the best in the early game and you dont want to waste even a single second of your early game advantage. Get your rifles out and apply pressure.
On larger maps, it can sometimes make sense to replace your first rifle with a RE- this gets you more units on the field faster and helps you capture points faster- This is only a smart choice on larger maps where early on there is mostly capping/harassing and very little actual fighting. A second RE is usually a bad idea, but if you do build one, build it first not second. |
tactics, squads, and vehicles dont have to be real life proportionality representative of the true war. The existing factions have lot of lopsided stuff that doesnt make sense. As long as theres some obscure vehicle or weapon that existed at the time it can be used as a staple in the faction. (kublewagen, king tiger, storm troopers, rear echelon, captain....) |
they should keep ptrs the same and change button to be useful again. |
They are players who are not even building m20...
you cant fault the game because of new players not building the best scout vehicle in the game.. |
yeh but ostheer also has their engineers to back them up early game. ostheer engineers are almost as good as sturmpios in close range. get them in cover and upclose to an enemy you'll deal massive damage, and if you have grenadiers supporting the engineers they can finish the job and force a retreat.
Additionally, once grenadiers get their LMG upgrades they become quite scary and dont even need help from the engineers to tear up conscripts and riflemen. You just need to make good use of your engineers in the early game until you get that LMG upgrade. |
usf major artillary really needs a nerf |
Do they also work while pinned?
yes theyre the only ability in the game that works while pinned >.< I'm hoping its more of a bug than a design decision.
