Someone wants to tade falls for shocks ? i'd make that deal, being deadly at all ranges beats being deadly only in spitting range.
Soviets very often have to assault axis position, and axis have great long range and short range firepower due to omnipresent automatic weapons for them and not as many ppsh as there should be.
Also, like several Axis squads, they shoot in a kind of goofy way, as if their guns were bullet hoses without recoil. Meanwhile, ppsh seem to fire in urst

How many times do I have to explain to you how Shock Trooper armor works before you understand?
1.5 armor is roughly equivalent to .66 received accuracy (Obers have .7) against weapons with a penetration of 1. Stuff like HMGs, LMGs, Light Vehicles, and tank machine guns have penetration values higher than 1. Meaning received accuracy is superior against stuff like Obersoldaten that rely on LMGs to do damage.
I'm amused how defensive you got about my post, which was not whining at all. Merely pointing out that the nerf to the Obersoldaten LMG dps was mostly compensated by increasing their rifle damage.
I think it is stupid for any faction to be able to spawn units that do as much DPS as Falls in an ambient building. If you gave USF the option to spawn a double BAR rifle squad in a building I'd say that is dumb too. If you had Falls spawn with KARs (with a cost reduction from the current 440 manpower of course) and they had to spend X munitions to get their FG-42s, I'd be cool with the building spawn. I think the Stormtroopers that Wehr just got with their new doctrine are fine.

I was speaking generally, not about you, but about all whiners that since okw appeared they only claimed "this unit op, that unit op" without considering at all at this faction's architecture and why units are the way they are. They lost ~3 dps on the LMG and gained most of it back on their KARs being buffed.
All changes to OKW (wich turned it into something very different of what it was at the beginning), are the result of your crying, dear whiners. But you must consider that no nerf will come without something other to be buffed or changed. I mean if you think that crying a river for fallschirm nerf will pay off, maybe it will, but something else will be changed and you will whine again. Nothing will be turned into a worst thing whithout additional changes just because you can't figure it out how to beat it.
So take a look at what OKW was at the beginning and what it is now, from your allied only perspective and think: you like it better now? My feeling is that you don't. Especially if we talk about "pros" 4v4 games.
So you know what? Stop with the whining, that will surely pay off. |
Shock troops outclass Fallschirmjager and they are the best infantry in the game. Fallschirms need to have an advantage to compensate that huge price. In addition, there is nothing else you would chose that doctrine for, now that Mg34 is useless compared to kubel. On the other hand, all doctrines involving shock troops contains other usefull stuff. So at meta level, things are compensating.
Conclusion: stop whining about fallschirms and every single OKW unit in the game. Everything is OP according to you guys. |

Wach what you're asking for. Last time they wanted to balance the 4v4 games, they nerfed Panther into oblivion and it took a half a year to make it again a viable unit.
I guess - but it's only my opinion, that you CAN'T balance 3v3 or 4v4. Not whithout unbalancing 1v1 and 2v2.
Overall, I don't think soviets have something to complain about in 4v4. They got heavies too and they can spam tanks like it's no tomorrow unlike Axis. Now for USF maybe they should receive their Pershing, doctrinal or not. But I disagree related to Priest. While playing americans (in 2v2 mostly) I feel that the Priest is very strong, if you build more than one. With offmap arty and major's arty next to your priest(s), you can bring an artillery nightmare on the battlefield, meaning endless arty barrages untill the end of the game. I achieved this many times. Of course no chance for opponents. Arty strike in base, arty strike on the battlefield. Your opponent willb e smashed if he doesn't rage quit. |

Yes guys I am a former sovjet fanboy but after I started to play the other side I have found my favourite faction now: The axis.
B2T: I seriously think they are fine. Yesterday, we played an amazing 3vs3 on Lienne and on the right side of the map, me (OH) and my opponent (US) fought an incredible challening infantry fight where good micro decided. The PGrens sucked when I failed microing, but were very rewarding when you success microing!
Hey, didn't want to be mean to you, I am just somwhat astonished. GL and HF in your games, I am also playing soviets with my team mate in 2v2 and I don't think they suck (dunno why people are complaining so much about the soviet gameplay) the only thing that bothers me is that it feels somehow easier to play with them. But that's not the soviet players fault, it's the faction design: spam, use exploit units, or die. It's quite fun though. |
I agree, it is one of my most used now for 2v2, the patched JLI might not have the close range firepower they once did, but they seem better at range. Also allowing them to throw the infiltration grenades has given them a means to combat enemies who get too close. The biggest buff though, IMO, is the cost decrease, only 300 MP to spawn allows me call 3-5 a game and they really compliment Volks and Sturms as long range damage.
That's actualy how they are used best. Mixed with your base infantry units. |
