Yes, soviets are bound to their commanders, but each faction's architecture is different as it should be. If you wanna change soviets entire architecture now, they will be more powerfull than they already are. And they are the most powerfull faction in game currently. |
I mean it would be cool, the germans did use flak 88s as arty during the battle of the bulge. The flak 88 should of been in the fortifications doctrine to begin with but relic got super lazy. People would cry OP that an emplacement could swivel around, be effective vs tanks, infantry, planes, and be indirect fire. I mean this is coh1 shit I've played mods with flak 88s also having indirect fire and its hella fun. But I feel like trying to balance it would require the flak 88 to just be watered down. I'd rather have no flak 88 than some shitty emplacement that can do everything, but not very well.
If you place this thing in a doctrine, give it a nice range, a slow reload, a slow rotation, a deadly AT / AA shell but considerably weaker against infantry, I don't think we'll have such of a balance problem.

Let's be fair a little about KT will you? KT had some "I win button" hidden in its armor somewhere. So the nerf was in the good direction, no doubt about it. The only thing now, is that you may think supporting it properly, not just send it into the oblivion, alone. I had no problem killing 3 T34/85s just with a KT but backed up by a Jagdpanzer.
If a change should be made, it should be something related to mobility (it's to damn slow) or a fuel cost decrease. |

I think this is true in the anti tank department.
Yes, the Raketenwerfer was buffed. Yet the design has been "meh" to begin with. I don´t value it as effective as the other AT guns. 50 range is lackluster for an anti tank gun/ launcher.
The Schreck nerf hit a bit harder. OKW relied on that.
Other options are expensive and cost fuel.
Especially versus the Soviet call in meta losing one unit (Jagdpanzer IV, Panther) will cripple your anti tank performance as OKW so significant you will lose the game. Once an IS-2 shows up the Raketenwerfer is a liability.
That´s a huge gamble imo.
As Ostheer etc. you can at least get out Paks or cheaper tank hunters (StuG, Su-85) or medium tanks. As OKW you are stuck with short range AT and here and there one vehicle.
I wouldn't say you should feel better right now with ostheer. OKW still remains strong, it has a better offence capability than ostheer in startgame but now is far more balanced no matter what all these whiners are saying. And yes, it's tricky and risky especially against soviets, this being another thing that these 0 to at most 6 OKW games players don't think or even imagine. They are unhappy because they consider OKW balanced when they will be able to steamroll OKW only with their cons. They live in the past, previously to WFA, when they could do anything, they weren't punished for their mistakes while Ostheer was so mistake-unforgiving. When OKW came and showed these soviet only players that something countered them effectively, the whine war begun, thousands of forum pages, crying a river over every OKW unit with NO EXCEPTION while refusing to play more than a few games with OKW - most of them against CPU - because it was "so OP". Tell you all what: I don't like soviet faction. BUT I have a fair number of 2v2s and a decent number of 1v1s though. I was curious to find out how it feels. I lost a number of games, I won a number of games and I became more carefull in stating opinions about them because I saw their weaknesses. Therefore, I have all respect for people who have a decent number of OKW games online and still think it's OP. It's their opinion and they have arguments, because they have the required experience with this faction. To others: please don't post about OKW. You have no idea what you are talking about. |

...Indeed, and Jeep + bike could kill models. Nobody said that it's unfair at that time. Still, truck hits the map earlier than those units did. Anyway this whole thing with pushing it's rather a complicated issue if we are to establish if it's legitimate tactic or not.

The game has alot of issues: imput lagg, bugs and YES, INSUFICIENT CHEATS PROTECTION, no matter what Inverse or others say. As long as maphack exists and can be used, why wouldn't this be a cheat too?
COh1 was a cheater's heaven, can't say this about COH2 but still you can cheat. Why oh why after a while a new patch was installed you meet sometimes such inspired players that never do mistakes while 2-3 weeks after each patch you never meet such players? |
