I think maybe in a commander it might be fun to play around with. Nix the sargent.

What I thinhk might be more fun is a commander with the ability to purchase Mg42 on you're volks. It's like a stop gap between Ostruppon and Grens. That would be cool.

I am of the school of thought that all of the heavy weapons should be in tier 0. And should be unlocked with the first officer purchase. Who ever mentioned that in this thred, Iam with you.

Now, for the meat. I think after you buy let's say Lieutenant, you have the option to buy Lieutenant's men. A squad of 5, with the same weapons as the Lt. himself. They are expensive to reinforce and buy. 340 mp/ 36 mp respectively.

They would take the vet of riflemen and ability changes to make them less utilitis. Specialists.

Same for captain. take away all abilities and add rifle grenade.

Major, Iam a bit spilt on this one. and really it depends on what relic wants to do with incoming us commanders. but.... ranger equivalent ; or a sergeant. which would be like a scouting officer. flare, Springfield upgrade. binoculars or something.

You can buy as many as u want of these guys, but if the officer is dead they become locked.

Someone might be left with the impression that Relic is run by wehraboos when the Germans get every toy in the attic while the US is found wanting and can't even get a Pershing. It's also a convenient German slant when the game doesn't register side armor. Can't have Germans worrying about the fact that from the sides and rear a Panther is no better at protecting it's crew than an M4 Sherman.


There were more Pershings that were deployed in Europe than there were Sturmtigers built. That along with KV-8's. Every German player gets Panther G's- that's the only model resembling something "good"- while the US has to spend actual cash or get lucky if they want the E8. Not much better with the Soviets and the T-34-85. Shit, 2 of the core Ostheer tanks- the Sturmpanzer 4 and the Ostwind- saw incredibly short production cycles, but apparently its a problem for the US to get even an M4A3E2? How about an AT gun worth a shit? Bazookas?



Its not that US players want the calliope, they want something that doesn't roundly suck.

+1. This guy should post more. He's got some good hammering truth. Makes you think what they really had in mind when thy built the army.

We've already seen soviet pinpoint shots causing problems. So that part I would disagree with.


Is there a problem this idea would solve? It seems those two units are pretty good anyway, considering they come with free upgrades and abilities as is.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea but it does seem unneccessary currently with all the US anti-inf abilities and the pack howie's suppression.

So major then has 2 barrages + fakearty?
sure, how about some strategic bombers on top of it?

I would say that the Americans have the weakest artillery. I don't think they make up for it with riflemen either. Artillery is mid to late game. This is in addition to not have a indirect it fire unit. That unit kind fills that roll.

So the major cant get any more abilities Iam down with that. The Lt and the captain are the only ones who get it. With it being in the captain tier it would make sense for the captain to get it. And also a reward for getting you're Lt as well as getting you captain. That sounds cool to me.

Fuck the pinpoint artillery. The ability for both the Lt can the cap are anti infantry barrages. And make that barrage circle big. Lets say the pack is shooting beyond it's normal range. It would make sense for the barrage area to be a little big. And for it to get smaller as the pack gets closer to what ever it's shooting at? Lets do that.

It's kinda funny. I have reached vet with the pack howi and never actually killed anyone. That's a little crazy. I have consistency problems with this unit. Sometimes it's not even the map. The unit it self has this issue.

The unit almost cost as much a a pack43. It would be cool if they buffed it to that point instead of nerfing the cost. They want an artillery piece there. Not a mortar. Right. Harder to use. Greater distance and fire power. Hella a lot to buy. Slow. cant retreat.

Come' on. Tell me they didn't build this thing to be bad ass. They pulled back in fear of makein them American boys big. I understand that. They are not that big now.. I believe they are played the least.

You play to win, you play automatch to rank high.
As long as it's possible to win or lose its competitive. There's competition.

It's not DOTA but we are competeing against each other in a battle of micro and strategy to see who will prevail.. Not seeing who can make the biggest wall of tank traps or something

And really RNG isn't that bad.
Certain things Have wayyy too much uncertainty such as penetrating the rear armor of a heavy with a medium tank, immobilize crits from a panzerfaust, plane crashes(which isn't RNG actually)

Those things cost you games, which is what pisses people off.

I don't think people are too upset about the RNG in cons vs grens, or Sherman vs P4... Engagements like that are what make coh great.

Now a Jackson bouncing and missing 4 rear shots on a KT during an hour long game doesn't make coh great.
