My prediction is that this commander will create serious balance issues.
The lmgs will promote blobing that will be further be promoted by the M5.
Countering the blob with a blob will not be a good option since this commander seem to have some of the best counter blob tools in any USF commander. Quads, Strafing runs that pin and damage and calliope.
In General this commander gives to USF many tools that they did not have so far and I am assuming that this will be problematic.
USF get a 2 squad tough transport/ a tough front-line reinforcement vehicle. (no tech cost)
A moving pinning platform in the Quad (no tech cost).
A pinn/damage off-map.
A rocket artillery (no tech cost) low CP and no limit in numbers, that seem to be able to take artillery counter fire or a couple of ballistic shots.
Imo this commander will create lots of problems especially in games bigger than 1vs1.
I guess will have to test before giving my opinion but my prediction is it will create lots of problems.
playercard plz |
In my opinion an AT snare on a cloaked unit that has a range of 50 offers no chances of counterplay:
Squads with snares can be kited & mines can be swept. The critical shot can not be avoided, it comes out of the blue.
Okw has also no snares on their core units but at least a schreck and their call in snares (falls, fusiliers) are good units that can be used in viable strats. While the boys at rifle squad is rather meh, even with the upcoming changes.
You will simply have to rely more on the AEC now and we will see how it turns out.
So I now have to spend 75 fuel and be forced in AEC tech to counter a 15 fuel 222/HT? Remind me again why your a strategist? |
No I'm not. I play a lot as SU or UKF when we play arranged team games. I just don't play random ranked games as Allies.
I'm sorry the fact that the brits has so many OP things after release is very clear. It's time to bring it in line with other factions.
What are you talking about, you can see from your playercard you barely play Allies. It's about bringing it in line and also not butchering the faction, because all that means is down the line it will get more buffs and be OP again. You know Relic. Now's the time to test the mod and not be a biased idiot. |
I just did some testing.
Volks vs Sections balance is out of control:
No cover, yellow cover:
Volks win always against sections, all ranges.
Gren cover vs Gren cover.
Volks win on close range. Sections are on par at mid/long (RNG fest).
It's all against 4 men sections, since I'm mainly concerned about early game.
The problem is, that you can easily push sections around in early game thanks to the new Kübel. Means good players won't allow green cover for sections.
My suggestion:
Revert section changes, reduce their received acc with vet a bit so they don't enter the matrix with vet.
exactly, it seems many people here havent't even done any testing. |
holy shit m not at all getting these ukf complaints really people dont confuse op with normal or normal with up...at least it will encourage combined arms from ukf now with ukf having more than enough tools now
What are you even saying, your so bias its unreal, Brits have always been combined arms. have you even played the mod? Add me on steam (message me ur id) and you play brits ill play OKW and we will share the replay here |
Good post, brits look fucked in the patch notes atm. Lelic |
brit 70 muntions on engi is insane.. gg anvil, comet time it is |
As far as I'm aware, due to battle servers, who you are playing against shouldn't really have any effect. I'm often playing with people from Europe, USA, Canada and even Australia with any noticeable difference between them.
Of course it will. The location of the battle server your using will dictate your ping. If me (from UK) played someone from the US, if the battle server we use is in the US, then my ping will be 150+ and his will be 20/40..
When I ping the battle server I am connected to I sometimes get 20ms response from a ping and sometimes 150-350. |
This is why Brits have fuel sinks.
-Weapon racks 15F
-Grenades 25F
-Squad sizes 25 F
-Bofors/AEC 15 F
-Hammer/Anvil 50 F
Ostheer spends the most fuel teching, but they have zero fuel sinks. Likewise OKW gets 1 less fuel per strat point and 2 per fuel point, but don't have fuel sinks either.
A Brit rushing a centaur or whatever only needs to spend 780 manpower 245 fuel, but they're sacrificing weapon upgrades, grenades, larger squad sizes (which translates into 25% less damage on their infantry sections and sappers.) and Bofors Emplacement/AEC both of which have their uses.
Meanwhile Ostheer spend 780 manpower and 260 fuel for an Ostwind and aren't missing anything from their army like grenades or weapon upgrades.
I think over time you'll see people learn to appreciate the importance of stuff like bofors/AEC and how effective they can be. In general any RTS metagame heavily favours fast teching for high end units until the metagame developments. Saw the same shit in Dawn of War 2 for years, only in the last 2-3 has the metagame evolved beyond that.
I don't think anything about British teching should be touched with a 10ft pole. This is the sort of problem that is solved by players getting better at steamrolling british players who don't buy their upgrades in favour of trying to rush an early centaur/cromwell.
Holy shit, never seen someone destroy the OP in a post so well in my life.
