Why does this game not filter by ping? ... Absurd.

Seriously, when you have almost 1 second input lag built into this game anyways from bad code, why do you still matchmake with people halfway around the world. I'm talking about 1v1 mainly as 2v2 and 3v3 and the like would be harder to do.

Seriously ...

As far as I'm aware, due to battle servers, who you are playing against shouldn't really have any effect. I'm often playing with people from Europe, USA, Canada and even Australia with any noticeable difference between them.

Of course it will. The location of the battle server your using will dictate your ping. If me (from UK) played someone from the US, if the battle server we use is in the US, then my ping will be 150+ and his will be 20/40..

When I ping the battle server I am connected to I sometimes get 20ms response from a ping and sometimes 150-350.

Because at any given time there's only a handful of people matchmaking.

The game uses a Client-Server architecture, not Peer-to-Peer. It doesn't matter if you play with someone on the other side of the world. What matters is YOUR ping to the Battle Servers which are located in the US. If your ping is 20ms and your opponent's ping is 300ms, you will get 20ms delay while your opponent would get 300ms delay. If it was Peer-to-Peer you would both get the same ping. So there's not really any point in filtering by ping.

Theres only one battle server location, and thats Eastern USA.

So, it doesnt matter what your opponents ping is. Its your proximity to Eastern USA that does.
