calliopes are so expensive though, any nerf will need a price decrease. |
The trick is to pull your units south before retreating, unless your shit in which case yeah its unlucky. |
I usually agree with alot of your posts but this one is terrible. This would leave USF LT Tier dead on arrival along with causing huge issues for soviets t1 and brits who don't want AEC.
Remember that vs like a luchs for example its worth teaching zookas etc because its a 70 fuel victory, but a 222 would seriously fuck everything and killing it would really not hamper an ost player at all. |
I had a Vet 5 command panther that took out no less than 8 British tanks. Clearly I had this guy by his throat. He was still able to be in the game due to this ability alone. Add that with the USF p47s straff combo that you often seen as well.
It's a click and forget. Requiring zero,0,none,negative micro to use. With zero,0,none,negative counterplay. If pushing the enemy, They put it where it's more behind you. Causing you to either
A. Move towards the enemy. In which you can lose it all or
B. Reverse through it, causing engine damages and temp critical, letting the enemy move in with ease. Especially against KT, elephant, JTs. They move from the side so the artillery doesn't do friendly fire...
Main reason why I'm no longer gonna play this game..I don't see how anything that broken is able to make it into a game like this. Engine damage to a full health tank? Really now
ADD that with the constant LMG blobbing, with the repetitive tier 2 rush for AT guns. Same shit on this game different day...GG
Sounds like u were outplayed |
AEC can come out at around 6:00 (with equal map control), on large maps, you physically can't have a PAK out on time, and in a decent position. BEST case, it's just rolled onto the map when the AEC starts wrecking everything. Also, you'd be amazed how well 2 squads and a vickers can do on some of the narrow maps (Rails and Metal, Kharkov, even ecliptic if they start south. And that's if both go AEC, usually only 1 of them rushes it, the other goes inf heavy. Remember that the brit infantry cover bonus is a pretty hefty force multiplier.
ye its OP i agree. |
No, I understood that - it just doesn't work on many maps. In maps like Ettlebruck, yes, it works great; but on Vaux Farmlands (either fuel), Moscow Outskirts (the fuel cutoffs) and even Ecliptic Fields (if you're in the bottom right), there just isn't anywhere to hide your grens. And even that assumes that the AEC will just be roaming freely. On Trois Ponts, an attack on the right-side fuel with both infantry AND an AEC is basically impossible to stop. The AEC will take out your MG (which won't pin the infantry in cover), while the infantry's cover bonus (so much green cover in that area) will make it impossible for your grens to get in close enough to faust the thing.
*note: this is for 2v2
If you see your against a brit player, just play to expect an AEC and get a PaK at ASAP and dont skip tech.. its pretty simple. If he over extends his AEC faust and its dead, bye bye wasted fuel and longer wait till cromwell. This is the same as how brits have to rush AT gun to counter 7 min Luchs.
It's not like brits will have much map control anyway, if they rush AEC the most their army will be is 2 IS and an Vickers... don't expect them to do much |
So for the people saying "it's fine", can someone explain to me how "it's fine" vs. OST?
With equal fuel incomes it seems to show up around the ~6min mark, meaning you'll barely have T2 up, let alone have a PAK in position. You can't hit it with a faust (kites inf), so it drives around like crazy taking out models everywhere. The only temporary solution I can think of is insanely lucky AT mines, but you'll only be able to afford 1 or 2 (at best), since you need MG42s on your grens to hold off the brit inf, and of course, it requires the AEC actually hitting it.
Honestly, I'd be fine with it if it hit the field at around 8-min. The unit itself is fine; it just shows up way before any counter.
welcome to brits vs luchs, l2adapt |
you were wrong. trying to insult me doesn't change the fact. if you took off your allied tinted glasses, maybe you could start seeing the state of the game for what it is (namely one where the ost sniper is in fact useless vs. garrisons).
I'm rank 40 Axis AT, how am I wearing allied tinted glasses. I literally abuse the fuck out of ost sniper, its almost game breaking unit once it has incendiary shot. IT outclasses brit sniper in everyway. |
remind me again why you have to rush an AT gun vs. ostheer but ostheer doesn't have to? or the fuel costs of building t1, unlocking t2, building t2 and building a 222/ht (or pak, for that matter)? remind me how this factors into whether the AEC is too strong or not?
My fuel comparison was in regards to the cost difference of an AEC and 222/HT... Just because there is now a viable strategy where Brits can get an effective armored car doesn't change much for the game at all. Ost still had to get AT for Stuart/AAHT etc... and Brits still need AT immediately for Luchs etc... learn to adapt, I've had literally 0 issues with AEC... if I see it I just don't get aggressive until I have my PaK or just incendiary it to death.
Remember if a Brit player rushes an AEC, its a massive risk (like luchs rush is a risk) because it delays his Cromwell MASSIVELY. |
not by a long shot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWCP4o8058s
even with the brit snipers horrendous reload time, he is quicker to fire ten shots (ost sniper without reload takes 8 shots in the same time). in the video you can also see taht even with 2 reload cycles of the brit sniper, he still ends up with more kills than the ost sniper.
Your not going to keep your sniper still while shooting a garrison, you will move him etc and so his rifle firetime will cooldown - this means ost's faster firetime/aimtime will still make it far better - when do you realistically stand still firing 10 shots? Are you some 2000 ladder scrub? |
