The AP round has like 220 penetration at close range (Panther has 300 armor) but at like mid range and long range its only like 20 or 30 better penetration than the Anti infantry round, which has a 4 second reload rather than a 6 second one

Ya it's okay, It would be better to get an m4a3 vs infantry and a jackson vs tanks. The m4a3's in that doctrine get 700 hp and bonus armor which is a massive edge over the m4c. i want a sherman that can fight panthers, the reg sherman is a better choice in that doct for adding armor idk that the 76 has any bonus armor just the round switching ability but both rounds suck at doing there job, why cant the at round have jackson like pen? I dont see how it would make it too strong it still has to get closer and could possibly defend its self against panthers, that and the AI round is shit. Tired of jacksons and ai infantry every game.
Edit let me be clear of course not win 1v1 against a panther just be able to pen one or other axis tanks that get out of position, or making a panther pay for diving. |
Anyone feel like this tank is a bit lack luster? For one it micro taxes the hell out of you and I feel like the round change timer is way too long to be able to plausibly use it effectively. I do not mind the micro tax but if you consider the micro and timers it takes AND how un reliable and un effective it seems to be. I think the round change timer and micro is ok if the rounds actually did what they were suppose to. Im not a stat guy i know a lot of you are but something seems off with it, it missed all the time, feels buggy when it fires, produces little results when using AI rounds vs AI, AT vs At. Wtf is its place when it is not effective at either, id rather it cost more if it could do BOTH of those things better. It should be able to not like it has amazing armor hp speed or anything really. I mean ive had a few miracle moments with it but ive also had at guns kill snipers so. I mean why cannot it not be a risky tank to charge a panther against if it has the right rounds, right now its not just another pos sherman version that even 2 of them a panther easily bullys both that dosent work because its lack luster in both departments. |
make Lt a sniper type unit, similar to like pathfinders but the only the LT and like a 25 chance to gib a model would be interesting |

Dont they just out survive them, usually comes down to VP battles, volks can put up with a lot of abuse from late game units, arty, rifles cant, they start having less and less time on the field, volks more. Its not like rifles drastically out dps them, they can stand there and ignore rifles for quite some time. They can still anyway just throw flame nade, make rifles move volks win. |

I disagree. The Panther wins close up because it has extra health, not armour. The Jackson already penetrates it frontally no problem.
Tank Point Blank provides an option to vehicles that struggle to penetrate heavier armour. It's a pointless risk on units that can already penetrate from range.
The vehicle I'd be concerned about is the M10, and it's not like you can't adjust it if point blank makes it too strong.
Played a game yesterday and jackson money rounds were bouncing panther frontally, that makes sense dosent it.
Look you proved my point yourself vehicles that struggle to penetrate heavy armor, like allied mediums that have become useless, soviet sherman76, sherman ez8, mech sherman 76, comet, cromwell. Yes because im going to swarm you with m10s around your invisble at guns, shreks, snares, paks lmao that even if they did pen probably cannot take down the health pool of any axis tanks above p4 before they are destroyed, even if they do almost guaranteed they will not make it back out.
And all those vehicles have no problem penetrating from range do they when axis tanks can bounce jackson money rounds ok
EDIT AHH i see what your saying it would be a pointless risk for axis vehicles that have no problem penetrating paper allied vehicles from range. it ok that my tanks cant penetrate from range though and still struggle to pen axis tanks when they are in there face behind enemy lines and should not get any compensation for risk, well played flanks, and give them a use again. |
Rifles have a timing vet2 and 3 with double bars, however volks can still keep vetting and they will start winning and bleeding rifles a lot at vet4 maybe not so relevant in 1v1 but is in 2v2. Where it seems rifles start wiping due to late game units, but wiping a vet 4 volk is a miracle with out a direct priest round, basically usf just bleeds the fek out and okw volks cheaper to begin with get even better at not bleeding.
The start of the game is against USF rifles as well when they arguably have the weakest late game, so it use to make sense when rifles where the best starting infantry unit to make up for their poor late game. Not the case you can have a mid game usf push but often forced into stuart because of luchs. At gun dosent do it too slow to react too slow to keep up with luchs around the map.
So your forces with your slow start to try to make up for it midgame to lead into a worse position to longer the game goes. WTB a werfer or stuka so i can delete all enemy vet support teams or squads, wait i have to buy the pak howie, oh wait its hard countered and deleted. |
I like the idea, but I would only apply it to LVs (Puma, Luchs, 222, T70, AEC, M5, etc.).
Applying it to every tank would result in this:
You'd basically end up with M36s rushing everything and basically ignoring armor due to their mobility. Right now, panthers, etc. can sort of hold their own against M36s because their armor still works at close range; this would remove that advantage, too. wow you just described what the panther does every game now, and thats not what would happen because of snares, hp differences etc. |
No. This would too heavily favor high HP, high mobility vehicles, and make tank combat even more silly than it already is in this game.
This would favor the ez8 sherman 76 mech, sov 76 LL, possibly even t-34 and comet is a great thing! Currently they have no place because they are utility tanks that dont do anything well to be honest. T34-85 might be the one exceptlion it is pretty strong currently. This would make those tanks viable again, right now they just are not, easier to go heavy AI infantry with jacksons or su85. Axis fans wont like this of course making there super rule the world tanks vulnerable. this would make well played medium flanks a thing again, now the only flanks they do is get snared and die, meanwhile they cant go tow to toe with any axis tank either and there AI is complete shit for 76mech (switching rounds), ez8, cromwell and comet. |
