You want to tech up ASAP, minimize your MP drain, and nullify their Kubel. 2 REs working together easily wreck a Kubel, and can split up to cap the map faster. 2 Rifles has less offensive power than 3 obviously, but saving MP is worth it so you can get a .50 cal and M20 out immediately. Your priorities then are immediately attacking them with your T1 units, and then researching racks so your double REs can ward off the Luchs. In: US Forces Strategies

The last time I used Zooks on rifles was probably 2014. With M1919 and Defensive Stance they were nice to have. Pathfinders with Zooks can also be good, but Airborne relies on massively outplaying them for the first five minutes. Overall though REs are meant for Zooks. Maybee in like the ultra lategame rebuilding rifles and giving them Zooks would be effective In: US Forces Strategies

You could probably make a requirement for showing reinforcement or production in the queue as long as there is no research. You could also have the research complete automatically, but take a certain amount of time to come into effect. You could then tie it coming into effect as a separate bar or timer over the HQ.
