Balance feelings after many matches : Game really not as fun as it was, especially in 4vs4.
The last patch seem to have tip the balance in favored of the Axis (OKW). So much that the game is not as fun at it was.
The days of the OKW 5 starz terminator blobs raping anything are back...
To vet the blob, just follow it with a Panther or two and ripe the xp in no time. Retreat after a few loss then rince and repeat. Panther smoke to protect them or med supply drops...
It also force others factions to blob/spam to survive (US/UK), It's lame, dull and boring.
Game becoming a Starcraft wwII mod...And it's not fun !!!
I'm not a pro, neither a fanboy, i'm just an old wargamer wishing that his favorite game be fun.
I migrate from table wargames (Avalon hill squad leader/panzer leader) to VCOH then COHO (the best) and finally COH2. Don't make me quit the COH world !
Plz Relic, don't scrap my favorite game.
Plz tune OKW and give all factions better tools to kill blobbing sickness.

Have you tried Combat Mission? It's essentially ASL but in a 3D environment, if you need a WW2 Wargame fix that's it. |

If you put a USF officer in a vehicle and use it around Riflemen in combat, does it attain veterancy faster?
I can see creative usage of LT in M20 with a double zook M20 Crew if this is true.

I don't like blobs actually, they are too vunerable, too much resourses concentrated on 1 place, always dangerous.
And I only say, that blobs right now are only way to make bad or middle-quality infantry work right. You just can't use concsripts in small groups, because they are too weak. Same goes for riflemans - they are not "healthy" and dying fast. Same goes for Volks... all other infantry.
If you want to play without blobs, then entire infantry gameplay mechanic in CoH 2 should be revised. And it will make it only worse. So, I prefer to admit "lesser evil".
IMO increasing ranged weapon range by 5, increasing LoS by 3 when in cover, reducing moving rifle multipliers (non assault units) to .4 and .5 (Garand) would end blobbing as we know it |
RUSE is a gimmick based game...
MoW:AS2 also has them, but the stuff happening there is just hilarity incarnation.
Ruse has a much larger scale and more of an economic/combined arms mechanic that can represent the strengths of factions that wouldn't be viable in a tactical level game like CoH2. Don't bag on Eugen, they're better than Relic |
