Having all "necessairy" units stock (rocket arty, panthers/heavy tank) means commander choice isn't nearly as critical , linear teching means there's less noob traps (ost)
Micro is weak, so allied TDs (which you need to kite with) usually die very quickly, Panthers meanwhile are tough, and have heavy crush (so they don't get stuck on stuff because of pathing problems, so they are much easier to keep alive for weaker players.
Everything is farily straightforward, and not very gimmicky, get a pair of MG42, point them roughly at the enemy, then a pair of mortars behind them and you're set
This also comes from my personal experience, when introducing new players into the game, they usually find Ost the easiest to play.
You're hurting some feelings here. lol. |
Revert the range increase, revert the price increase. All it needed was a fifth man, now it's too similar to the other at guns but with extra cancer.
Leave retreat.
I don't ask to remove the retreat, just to remove/reduce the received accuracy bonus when retreating, So if you're catch up by infantry the same will occur as for any other atgun. |
That's why I always play Urban Assault KEKW
CalliOP
You can also focus with LMG rifles if that's your thing, or LMG Paras, or call in a strike with camouflaged IR paths, or recon bombs, or cover to cover, or Scott smoke and rush with infantry and M4, or rush with halftrucks with cav riflemen. You have plenty of options if you can't flank, though I think it's always possible to flank at least a little bit, unless it's a narrow 4v4 map in which case it's a shitty map issue not a balance issue.
I don't wanna talk about Poltawa. Delete it.
All that stuff is doctrinal so out of topic. USF shouldn't rely on doctrine to counter a 270 manpower unit. |
+1 This nailed it.
Switching out the scott for the calliope would fix this issue in USFs roster and making the mattress more consistant would go a long way to stopping the insane rak dives.
i don't know why you want to break the balance just for that. |
Tbh I don't think it's an issue. Rak has slightly lower range and no gun shield so the extra man and rec acc feels fine to me. With creeping death gone imo the rak is in a pretty fine place where it's still unique and a threat but counterable.
Counterable with anything else than small arm fire even if flanked. |
Raketen receiving their 5th man was a great idea so it doesn't get decrewed too often by single tank shot, now it is like for any other support weapon team. But collateral side of it is that it is impossible to decrew them with infantry. And that's a real issue because now the only way to decrew them is having one of those lucky tank's shot.
Since the balance team (or relic) doesn't seem interested in removing the retreat function from it, why not simply decrease the bonus they get when retreating. It will only affect small arms fire and at least bring back some counter play on it. |
If you make them too good, people will just spam them. They are cheap and the flame weapon isn't something to take lightly.
It is sad that detonating mines doesn't grant them xp. Building tier structure could also grant them some xp. (not bunkers) |
A few years ago, Spec ops doc was soo real part of the meta for OKW and then they nerfed the Panther (like it can't use its own vet bonuses, general Panther nerfs of 2018 and locked it behind tech in 2019). Now that commander usage just vanished in 1v1s & 2v2s, however still seen in some numbers due to its Arty flare ability.
Maybe make the Command Panther great again? Like it comes in the late game and just like any other panthers it needs to face against alot of allied TDs & ATs. In most cases, it can not make an impact any better than a regular panther. Sure it got those aura that provides buffs to other vehicles but that is just not worth it to make a break through or being a specialist in killing tanks (main role). Especially, when your team is not in a great place and gettting bullied by allied TDs and Mediums like T-34/85s. Moreover, the Command panther just like regular Panther misses alot even when being 'stationary'.
Proposed chagnes to make it better are in the poll.
You can't really make the unit stronger than it is - and we should get ride of the stupid flare which make it even easier to use to flank or snipe other tanks. |
Its an axis unit, so its underpowered by default and needs buffs, current state is irrelevant.
Can't imagine the shitload if M10 was doing the same to the Panther |
Literally noone complaining about the M36 anymore. You can just run up to it with a Puma and scare it away.
Does't it make the Puma OP in that case? |
