But they'll still be lacking rocket arty, sniper, cheap tank destroyer and brumbar like unit. In definitive you're just over exaggerating USF capability and over underestimating Ostheer ones. Where I agree with you is that the Ez8 doesn't need to be changed, picking the doctrine doesn't restrain you from building a regular sherman or a scott for the AI purpose and keep the EZ8 to face other tanks. What the doctrine needs is a removal of the sprint debuff or better, making it equal at Ostheer one, all infantry except atgun and pak are running faster for a period of time. In: COH2 Gameplay |

They just make your riflemen greater. Now that they are CP0 I use to call a squad just when my first RM squad is out so I can 2vs1 anything that OKW or OST send early game. Extra vision provided by the PF let you decide how you want to engage and avoid early HMG42 aggression. Honestly I don't understand your argument about snare stuff, do HMG.50 snare? Do M20 snare? Do not consider a PF as a replacement for a riflemen squad but a replacement of an early M20 or HMG.50 In: COH2 Balance |

I think it is like cutting one of your legs to not call a Pathfinder squad. Now I'm not telling that one pathfinder is better than one riflemen but they do wonder in team and can save you a lot of manpower and precious time to end faster an engagement and push/cap behind with two squads on good shape. Could they be better? Sure, but I want to point out that it is already the squad that hit vet1-2-3 first, long before my riflemen. 1xRe + 1xPF + 2xRM + 1xOS and then a Para is still great in most cases. In: COH2 Balance |

Luftwaffe isn't a great commander for teamgame, it has its use on 2vs2 but above and the resource accumulation their time windows is too small. They also suffer the lane concept of large teamgame and maps, how are you supposed to hide when the frontline is so small and when around 8-10 minutes arty strikes start raining all over the place. Í'll be honest but 1 new commander for OKW/USF/Brit feel the same. They could focus on revamp 2 more commanders per faction and that would be 100x greater than 1 new toy. The way to use pathfinder isn't to 2v2 another squad but having one more than your opponent. 2xRM + 1xPF vs 2xVG/GR to force your opponent to retreat. You may think that in that case why not using 3xRM to get the same result. Well this is the same reason why you build an early M20 or early .50 instead of another RM squad, diversity and adaptation, you can scout HMG position, you can snipe and force early retreat etc... Pathfinder should make you save manpower from RM squad, keeping them longer on the BF. Same result with a M20? well but you may decide to go T2 or to save fuel for sherman rush etc... In definitive: Your initial question shouldn't be RM or PF but PF or/combo M20/HMG/Stuart/AAHT. |
