I think they finally got the correct move: War spoils is a good system for the long run, with people slowly but steadily getting new content (the system is bad if you are eager to get something RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, but if you can wait for something, then it is perfectly fine to have a small% of dropping your dream item, be it a rare bulletin, or a rare commander). If you combine it with the fact that you can now buy the things YOU (and i insist on the you, point of view is important here) feel you should have RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, then the system looks complete.
There still remains one point that could be problematic, but they said they will be planning something to fix that issue: the duplicates. Be it a crafting system (sacrificing 2-3 items to get a similar rarity new one -duplicate should be absolutely avoided in the result of that crafting-), or a trading system between the players (but then, who would trade a rare commander for some shitty duplicate soviet one ?), i think Relic are headed the correct way this time.
Let's wait and see, everyone should be somewhat confident in that situation: given time or money investment, you will have what you want in due time.
PS: i think one last option to adress the duplicates problem would be to link ingame items to the steam market, but that might be a tough feature to implement in the game (i am in the industry, i think i can appreciate what is an easy task and what isn't). |
wy you guys complaining free stuff new commanders different tactics and stuff must say that im truly happy having free commanders ,if you want to give money to relic open a request for african campaign and make a donation for relic to star working in new projects our a campaign in italia our new italian commanders there soo moutch that you could ask for relic to work and focus the game got a few bugs but in balance its almost perfect realy i will like to see a new campaign in asia will be nice and if you got money to spend spend it making on the future of relic to expand the game !
omg why did i spend time reading this ? Nobody is complaining about the "free stuff". People who actually have a real life with commitments do not appreciate the fact that they can't have access to this "free stuff" you are talking about. One day you'll understand, but you aren't ready yet. |
Hence why i added "as long as you don't live in a tropical country". I know in some places PCs do not being turned on for too long. |
Hello there, i don't know if it has been posted somewhere, but i would like to know if there is a list of obtainable bulletins for the new factions. The old system gave you a good idea of what is IN the game, but i find it rather hard with the new system.
Thanks in advance |
It is a bit too late for me, as i didn't take notes during my grinding, but my average time is/was 2h-2h30 per drop, i got 4 out of the 6 new commanders, for an average of one commander per 20 drops (roughly). I'm starting again today, see if i can get the last US commanders i don't have, and post my updates here. |
Seriously Relic at least give us the option to buy the new commanders. This is getting ridiculous with all the duplicates. Played the new factions over 200 hours and all I got was Soviet/Ostheer commanders that I have already. 3 Terror commanders so + 3 other duplicates.
All useless.
So basicly to get a good chance to get the new commanders I have to get a new steam account and then buy only the new factions so decrease the chance of getting duplicates. Brilliant!.
And even, i don't think it would make you "useless commander proof". I heard vCoH2 winning US and Ober items, and the other way around... |
I get what stopped you from farming. To be perfectly honest, as long as you don't live in a trppical country in which leaving a PC working 20hours/day is a bad idea, i think you SHOULD use what's available to farm.
It is all about luck, as long as you farm long enough, you should get all unlockable WFA commanders. So far, even if i don't have enough a sample to reach perfect conclusions, i never had a duplicate WFA commander, and i got 4 out of 6. Which would lead me to the conclusion that Relic built the system so that people eventually get all 6 of them once a long enough playtime has been spent (still the random part can mean someone will get them 50 hours in, as opposed to 200hours and more for another player).
Don't give up ! |
Thank you man, i'm going to set City 17 as OKW with 3 allied hard wher and 4 normal soviets. Then i'll go praying to get my OKW commanders...
BTW : did you use annihilation or VP ?
I strongly advise you to NOT use wehr allies, as they are somewhat weaker than soviets. Try to stick to the settings i used. As for the game mode, VP 1000 = 1h-1h30', 500 = 30'-40', and 250 even less. When u just had a 1h30 or 2h game long, it is usually better to setup a series of shorter games to 'trigger' a spoils drop, as it seems that the game makes you allowed for a spoils once every 2h-3h of playtime. After what you have a % to get a spoils, and % is higher if the triggering game lasts long.
As a rule of thumb, i just played 1h-1h20 games everytime, and chained them while in windowed mode with ingame sounds turned off (even with sound turned off, one of your soldiers will still speak to cheer about the victory, which is a good time to switch back to game and launch a new one. I know this sounds like a very "industrial" method, but we are talking about grinding, right ? |
What do you guys use as settings for farming ? 4v4 with normal bots and you go afk and wait for the IA to finish the game itself ?
Just updated my previous post to include how i set up my games |
Lol second update in less than 2 hours: just got the last Oberkommando commander, fortifications, which makes me the happy owner of the 3 Ober premium doctrines, +1 USF
Random and luck at its finest ! I'm waiting for the Rifle company to start playing USF, which i haven't even tested so far.
PS:
To give an approximation of the grinding i put into this: the ingame count of my games on City17 is at 89 match played so far, with maybe 5 games played before WFA + a few games where i forgot to set the win condition (which forced me to relaunch a game, and trigger the +1 to the counter)
=> average farming game length: 1hour with 3 allied 'hard' soviets versus 4 'standard' Wehrmacht. I tailored the games lengths by turning some of my allies to 'expert' to reduce length at times of need, and prolonged games lengths by turning opponents to 'hard' (when i went to bed or to work, in which case the longer the game, the happier i was).
If it can help... |
