I am bringing up the lack of British AT snare for Tommies or Royal Engineers (Brit Sniper requiring Vet 1 takes a while and is more fragile). With the 222 buffed HP I find the Brit AT gun plus small arms fire isn't able to reliably deal with it before it swoops behind my AT gun and wipes it(especially when a second one shows up).
I have really been feeling the lack of an AT snare and although I can go for one commander to get it(one commander metas are cancer), it still comes on a late and expensive infantry. The AEC is an option but comes later and is more expensive than even 2 222s. The Brit Mill Bomb upgrade is one of the most underutilized Brit upgrades in the game(Base arty is used more than these Nades are), the biggest reason is the the cost of unlocking just one grenade(USF get two grenades in their unlock).
I think adding the Brit AT Nade with the Mill Bomb upgrade for Tommies(or allow Royal Engineers only to throw it if you think Tommies with AT Nades is too strong), would help that upgrade be used and would help the Brits deal with 222 spam. Just an idea I wanted to throw out there. |
Putting 2-3 building somewhere and pressing a single button every 90 sec is not as hard as pulling of a flank with multiple tanks and infantry units.
The auto repair Engies from the FHQ die really easily so you really need to bring up REngies to keep repairing while dodging rocket strikes. It isn't as simple as pressing a button.
Sounds like people oppose strong defensive play, but love strong offensive play.
Then people turn around and complain about offensive blobbing.... |
Me and a friend tried to make Sim City and, while it did take a while, the enemy was able to beat our Sim City with 2 Stukas, 3 Panthers, a Tiger, and a Panzerwerfer. Constant Rocket artillery punishes repairs and whittles them down pretty quick. We had a Mix of Engies, a Sniper, 2 AT Guns, 2 Land Mattresses, Tommies, 2 Fireflys, a Centaur, 3 Bofors and 2 Mortar Pits. After some trade offs between the Panthers and Fireflys, their rocket strikes finally brought down a key Bofors and they flanked us hard with 3 Panthers and a Tiger while infantry swarmed through the Bofors hole.
It can be beat, it is annoying, but it is as difficult to bunch up and try to survive German Rocket Strikes as it is to attack Sim City. |
Reasons why i think the landmattress is fine
1: at the moment is because it fires really slowly so it's easy to get out of it's area of effect before having heavy losses. EI: 1 rocket at a time at a slow rate of fire.
2: it's reload speed is fairly low
3: it really isn't all that mobile
4: and the cost is just right.
It may come out really early but when you see an early land mattress you know tanks are going to be delayed by a considerable amount.
40 fuel isn't a really big delay it is just a swap from getting a Bofors or AEC and getting the Land Matress instead(plus the UC doesn't have a fuel cost anymore). |
They removed cancerous deep snow that slowed movement, why would they put in cancerous slowing mud?
I have only had one match on this map, but with the mud and the placement of houses for MGs... meh. |
Relic this last patch is somewhat of a debacle(to put it mildly), I know you guys want to make a good impression for ESL and that might lead you to consider only internal testing, but consider the following:
Last year we had several major announced patches that you opened a week early, as a mod, to allow players to enjoy them and gather some test data. I think it would be a good idea to bring that system back, because the current patch has a number of errors and major bugs that the community could have easily found and offered solutions for.
Relic you literally have hundreds, if not thousands of players who would download and test your patch for you, free of charge! I hate to see this game in this state, because of poor internal quality control and you guys really busted your shops to get the Vet bug fixed and get this patch out on time(for better or worse). I think if you guys had released the patch as a mod yesterday and told everyone you want a week of feedback and player testing to make it come out better, then this could have been a way to release the promised patch on time(not officially, but in some format accessible to players) and not lost any face with the public or ESL as a whole(one more week of Vet bug in the game wouldn't have killed anybody). Just my thoughts on the matter and a plea to return to a patching system that as a whole led to better patches in the past. |
Isn't this the first announced patch that they haven't done a one-week-early mod test for? Can they bring that back, because almost all the patches with that beforehand were less buggy and more balanced than these internally tested patches. Relic you have hundreds of people who will test your patch for free! |
The scatter range on this unit is so massive that if I don't start moving the split second I hear it firing my squads still get hit before they get out of the ring of fire, so I hit retreat and they retreat through its massive ring and get wiped 70% of the time. This thing fires so many rockets it covers its own scatter ring like 3 times over and that almost guarantees wipes on retreat.
I don't want to super nerf it, but if Relic could take a controlled approach like they did with the CalliOP, then that would be appreciated. |
You realize the poll is just a sum of everyone's opinions, right? This is a discussion, what the fuck do you expect everyone to just not talk about the topic?
He expects everyone to agree with him and charge Relic's HQ with flaming pitchforks demanding the impossible.
Iceman I understand this game can be frustrating at times, but when you make a topic and a poll with very narrow question and even more narrow responses on a complex topic; you are going to get discussion about it. This is the internet that is a fact not an opinion if people's responses to your poll frustrate you, then reword the poll or ask elsewhere. |
New commanders will be released in a few minutes. They are a bit behind the patch as they require some manual work to make them go live.
I can't wait to abuse those new commanders for 1-2 months before you nerf them. |
