Thread: 5 Minor Suggestions24 Apr 2016, 21:40 PM Great post. I'd suggest the valentine coming at 3 (unlikely) or 4 CP's. It could be a bad substitute for the AEC, but with current 6 CP requirement, this kind of choice comes way too late. ANd the 17-pounder really could be 15 popcap, with no other adjustments. It already works as a "less" powerfull Pak43, with the "ignore shotblockers button", which is a bonus feature of the Pak. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Why change the spawn system? 24 Apr 2016, 21:33 PM At first I didn't quite like the offmap spawn of CoH2; later I just got used to it and it didn't matter at all. Well, now I think that on-map spawn (strucuture spawn, watevs) is a bad idea, first and foremost because of USF's and UKF's ready-to-go base structures, which is also something that I didn't quite like back when they came up but just learned to live with it. If choosing base placement is so very important - and I think it can be - why the flower they managed to come up with rigid base structures. I think that this should be a lesson - sometimes, you pick a choice that you can't really come back after that. Offmap spawn is one of them, with current game design. EDIT: some typos In: Lobby
Thread: Ostheer and Soviets obsolete?19 Apr 2016, 17:52 PM I was lately playing a lot of Brits, since I bought them during pre-launch and didn't use them until some weeks ago. Time and again I miss the old armies, and have been enjoying a lot playing with the soviets. My current load is Soviet Shock, Guard Motor and Partisan, and I'm having a blast with it. If I'm feeling particularly defiant, I try my Conscript Loadout, with conscript support, NKVD and soviet reserve army. I can't deny that it feels a bit like playing with one arm tied to the back, but the wins come all so much sweeter. And nobody can call you a spammer since you gotta play the hands you're given with these doctrines. Wehr always makes me tense, though. Edit: typo and my conscript loadout was wrong. The playerbase actually rose on the last few months, and even with all its problems, it's fairly balanced. Every time a lose to someone that seems to "abuse" a tactic, I try to make it myself, just to crash facefirst on my incompetence. MAYBE it's not just abuse, right? This game is by far the most played RTS that I played on my life. And I did play the original C&C, the original Warcraft, original Starcraft and on and on. Hell, this game is perhaps the only game that rivals the time I spent on Civ IV, which was a lot. In: Lobby
