While I understand you issue. The 222 is meant to fill the void in ost tech of missing a tank close to a t-70 or Stewart. As such the unit is meant to take units down such as the katy and su-76 (if unsupported).
OK, but then the 222 should have a price-point similar to a light tank, and the stats to match.
Killing a flanked su76 or katyusha is fine, but 2 222s can easily kill a t70, AEC, or other comparable unit by just charging in and trying to flank them. I always build 2 222s, because I know that they will pay themselves off. Even if I lose both of them chasing a T70, I net a 40 fuel victory, and a 210mp loss. If I only lose 1 (which is normally the case), I net a whopping 55 fuel victory. This is HUGE, especially if you are on the backfoot. Vetting them up also means that I have a powerful (if weak) recon unit for the lategame. |
I am quite happy for the changes to heavy tanks. It has always seemed silly to me that heavies can reliably bounce shots to their rear by medium armor.
Medium armor is already outclassed by heavy armor, and it is almost impossible to stop a heavy without flanking it if you don't happen to have a heavy TD or another heavy to combat it. Flanking is a core element of tank combat, and there is nothing more cancerous than pulling off a great flank into several enemy supporting AT pieces to finish off a tank, only to watch helplessly as your micro is rewarded with several bounces. There is nothing worse than setting up a great flank, only to watch in horror as your 2 panzer 4s fail to kill the enemy engine-damaged IS2 due to lucky bounces, and are forced to pull back.
With the popcap changes to heavies, it is actually more expensive to get 2 mediums than 1 heavy, yet the heavy is more efficient and easier to use. A rear armor hit should almost always be a penetration, if not always in my opinion. Not allowing for this makes heavies a no-brainer unit type, punishing players for not using them.
My only criticism with these changes is that they are not uniform, and that they are pretty arbitrary values. Why is the KT's rear armor set to 150, whilst the IS2's armor is set to 160? Why is the JT and ele rear armor set to 110, while the ISU's rear armor is unchanged? Why have the churchill tanks and the sturmtiger been ignored with these changes? |
I am against this change. It doesn't really fix any issues, and it creates imbalance by destroying the carefully timed earlygames of certain matchups. As mentioned earlier, this change will also only affect some of the factions, with others not really having a chance to change their base placement.
I do not find walking from offmap annoying. It allows players to make good use of rally points (remember those?) and allows for rapid deployment on certain maps, expanding the available early strategies (ie. double teaming on rails and metal). It makes more sense to me from a realism perspective as well. |
I said the Volks faust is going to be only like Gren one, and not some super faust like mirageflas one... then you insult me and quote the EXACT thing I just said. Learn to read yourself.
'Cough' :
My thoughts exactly.
Volks faust just like Gren one, that has no snare.
Your words.
In terms of the actual patch notes, I feel like the penals may be a bit too cost efficient with these changes, ditto for the T34/76. However, for penals, this can be offset by the lower map control due to the longer build time and need to tech for them, so I suppose that we will see. I also think that a panzerjaeger squad for OKW would not be amiss, to supplement their current AT options. 4-men with 2 schrecks like pgrens would probably be the best. |

Best AT gun? Ostheer? That award surely also goes to the Brits.
Brit AT gun is a mirror of the Ostheer AT gun, the difference being that the Ostheer AT gun has Target Weak Point instead of rapid manouevers. |

Unless it is an Ost sniper with its vet 1 ability...
You can use the vet 1 on vehicles? Learn something new every day. |
What about a Kübel with literally no health left?
Snipers besides the british one do 0 damage with their rifles. Even a 1 HP kubel technically hardcounters them 1v1. |
Nope, the lightest vehicle that can do this is Medium tanks, that means M10, PzIV, T-34, Sherman and Cromwell. Haven't test Valentine though.
OKW Truck used to be able to crush but Relic think it was way too op and removed it from game.
The SU76 can also crush, but is not the best suited to do so because of its turn radius. |
