>Dat feeling when Irregulars and Partisans have been waiting for a long time.

I'm a big fan of using mines in CoH2, I find it almost the go-to in big games when things boil down to defensive play. TM-35 is definitely my favourite since it is both cheap and capable of harming both infantry and armor. For Axis I enjoy the great squad wiping chance of S-mines on retreat paths and the Teller instantly taking down light vehicles. I haven't really looked into the Schu-mines and I am curious about it.
I am hoping to find some players here who know more about mines. I want to broaden my understanding about it. Any techniques? Certain issues I should be aware about? Good spots to place mines on certain maps? It's all about mines. |
Just a long game I had. Here are some stuff I noticed for the game.
1. T-34/76 Spam
2. Lots of mines
3. Panthers. Almost as much T-34
4. Tiger Ace
5. Sturmtiger
Allies somehow won even though it's late game. |
Does it not depend on the particular unit?
Ostruppen are already mild in their price effectiveness (I'm speaking of the 0CP version) so it would probably make them go extinct if they were even more expensive than grens.
AG are already at a questionable position cost-wise so I'm not sure what to say about it.
I can say the same for Partisans and Irregulars.
The only call-in I'd find questionable would be the double T-34/85. The rest are decently priced and perform according to their value. |
I feel that the wire takes a bit longer than the normal wire, which makes it difficult to establish a good block off a spot unless they were left along for a decent amount of time. Especially on vital frontline chokepoints, which is why I'd say it's partially the players fault for allowing the opponent to set up a elaborte blockoff.
However I do agree that free super wire sounds a little unfair, even if the Sturmpioneer is expensive and the setup time is a bit longer than the normal wires. |
*Sniff* I thought I'd never see the day that Lefh gets buffed.
Thank you. Thank you so much.
Also, on regards of Partisans, my limited experience leads me to believe that their current weakness is their weak impact on ambushes. The low accuracy forces them to take a good second to stand still and shoot, leading to most weapon crews to successfully escape and other infantry squads to simply shoot back and terminate the squad.
My suggestion for a solution for Partisans are:
A) Emphasize their "glass cannon" aspect by returning them their accuracy. They die relatively quick due to their small squad size so there is no need to further nerf their survivability. If a nerf must be applied, it should be making them unable to capture points.
B) Emphasize their "infiltration" aspect by (like a few of the posters above me have said) providing some sort of stealth improvement so that they can do reconnaissance. Currently, they don't have any methods from avoiding detection and upon being caught they will be forced to retreat by enemy forces. Perhaps a cloaking ability with hold fire would work. Remember in the campaign that Polish sniper that could dig ambush cover? Perhaps you could take that into account, though I'm not sure if that is implementable.
Thanks for providing a mod that might be a great improvement to the game.
Edit: Leave the Partisan Tank Hunters alone though. They are performing extremely well for their current price. |
I think the message here is the level gap between players. |
Generally you pick one, not both.
Maybe I got unlucky, but when I was faced with an M3 (CE inside) + 2 Penals, they killed by Kubel, killed by Sturms, and forced away my 2 Volks.
I'll have to be honest (though I'm not saying that this strat is the best choice) but you should be able to get a shreck or two even with fuel conversion. It's not that you get 0 ammunition income the whole time. |
If you don't mind the intense micro, I highly recommend the Ostruppen for the Wermacht and the Partisan for the Soviets.
Ostruppen perform reliably in all game modes, though it doesn't mean they do good, just reliably.
Partisan really shine in games that have maps with multiple buildings and 3v3 or above games.
Issues for both commanders is that they rely on good micro or they won't be used to their full potential. Ostruppen need cover buffs to hit enemies accurately while the Partisan needs to looked after with care due to their fragile vitality. |
Medics are a great addition.
Molotovs and AT nades depends, but I usually get every T0 upgrade. |
